ah, one of the new blocks in our chip went way over budget as far as area goes; it's like 440K gates, not including SRAM! that's huge. i spent the afternoon helping out and recoding two blocks in MC (module compiler), but alas, it didn't help. i compared one block with a hardware divider, hoping the divider would be smaller, but instead, it was *three* times larger. ha! it goes to show you that you should always avoid doing a divide in hardware. i started laughing when the area numbers came out during the compile.
was the team USA/angola game broadcasted this morning? i woke up around 8am and turned on the tv while i was in bed, but i couldn't find it (i only checked nbc and cnbc). so i went back asleep and finally got up at 10am. and i got scratched again when i played basketball today, although this time, the opposing teammate didn't draw blood. (some blood just bubbled to the surface of the skin.) damn, i should find one of those elastic sleeves that some nba players wear. i played pretty hard today, and i was huffing and puffing, and now i have a dehydration headache.
one of the copiers in our office is really cool; it doubles as a scanner. you just put the paper in it, click on a button, put in your e-mail address, and it scans your document and sends it to your account. pretty amazing stuff. technology is so cool nowadays. i had so send in a W-9 form to some agency today, and i tried faxing it four times on two different machines, but it kept on giving me an error. so i went to an HR lady, and she suggested i scan it and e-mail it to them. it all worked beautifully.
hm. it seems the SYTYCD tour is selling out quickly. i just checked for the "best available" and "any price" tickets, and the seats it gave me were on the upper deck. does that mean that all the better seats are gone by now? ugh. i had better find someone to go with, and quickly. jennie had expressed interest, but she might be in thailand at that time, and i e-mailed aimee today and checked if she and her sister want to go. you internet people are of no help. *grumble*
i have a feeling that my mom and i might fight at some point in time while she's out here. three weeks is a long time for her to be in my face, and i think she might overstep her bounds. she's already gone into my room and cleaned, and i have a dreadful feeling that she might search my closets or something. that would seriously piss me off. we'll see what happens. i've lived with my mom in the same room before (when i was in high school), and we've fought before. i guess when you have too much contact with someone, there's a chance that you can grate on each other's nerves.
i'm IM'ing amyM right now, and she's telling me that there are some nice asian girls out there in hong kong. hm. but i wonder about the fob factor. i mean, they speak english out there in HK, so if anything, there should be the least fobs out there than anywhere in china, right? yeah, i should go visit amy if i can. btw, i still haven't talked to my boss about the UK trip yet.
i'm going to try and have dinner with grace and her volleyball team tonight. but that means i'll be eating around 10:30pm. hm. my last meal today was at 10:30am, so that means 12 hours between meals. i don't think i can last that long; i just went downstairs to the cafeteria to grab a small bite, but there were only potatoes and zucchini left. rats, i got there too late. can i last until dinner? the only thing i have at home is an apple and some pretzels. maybe i should stop by taco bell and grab one item or something to hold me over.
i took two dumps today so far, and one of them actually looked solid. it didn't feel solid, though (it was a short explosive bursty one), but when i looked back at it, it was a small 0.75-inch thick snake. ah, what i wouldn't give to have some solid poo once again.
espn.com did something really weird today. at one point in time, their sportsnation poll question was in french. i don't know if it was a glitch or something, but it must have been a mistake. i should have translated it to see what the question was, but i was too lazy. i did notice that only several hundred people took the poll, though. ha!
i got a message on that dating site from this girl today, and her picture was that of a very attractive blonde caucasian girl. however, when i took a look at her profile, it said that she was latina, and her hair was black. hm. perhaps her picture was not of herself? why would you do such a thing? to attract males at first, who would then see that you're misrepresenting yourself, get pissed off, and then write you off as a liar? *hrmph*
ok. damn. my headache is getting worse. i took some generic tylenol earlier, but it's not working (it never does, for some reason). i'm gonna go home and take some advil. and maybe get some food. ciao!
