i had the worst food coma in a long while after lunch today. both D and i were starving, so we went to su's mongolian bbq and feasted on gigantic bowls of stuff. after i came back, i passed out in my cube for an hour. luckily, i didn't drive because i would have fallen asleep at the wheel. su's rocks, but i'm a little upset that they keep raising the prices. a few years ago, it was only $8 (pre-tax/tip), but now, it's $11!
i finished coding today. it feels good, but now i have to start verification, and i'm not sure how to go about doing it. it'll be tough; i have to finish it by next monday.
me, i'd rather have words misunderstood because there's at least a chance that i can correct myself. having words left unsaid is frustrating because you'll always have that "what if" hanging over you. i always like to have the last word, and i hate having something missing in a conversation. if i don't get to express myself, then i'll wind up hating myself for it. anyways, that's just my take.
right now, many of my stanford buds are in whistler (canada) frolicking in the snow. i wish i could join them, but i've got that work deadline. sigh. it's ok, though, because i "retired" from winter sports, so i would sitting in the cabin with my thumb up my ass while they're on the slopes. i would like to visit whistler sometime, though; i've heard it's beautiful there.
my asshole is raw. i've taken three dumps today for some strange reason. all that wiping has made my sphincter all sore and stuff. yes, i wipe very hard. do you guys crumple or fold? i used to be a die hard crumpler, but for reasons which i forget, i started to fold a few years back. i use a lot of toilet paper, too. i fold my tp in 1/8ths, and ever since you guys gave me shit for it, i now wipe twice. (i still don't check the toilet paper because i think that's just gross.)
has anyone seen _semi-pro_ yet? it's gotten bad reviews, but i still think i might go watch it. you know, mindless entertainment. and plus, it's about basketball. the last basketball movie i saw was _he got game_, and i was surprised to find out that ray allen could act. i actually never heard of him before i saw the movie.
*sniff* so amy left the country for almost four weeks. i'm gonna miss talking to her. she's in argentina now until the 25th or so. she called me from the airport, and she told me that she got this cool job that might prevent her from going to hong kong for her MBA. if she takes the job, she'll stay in DC, and that'll be cool, because that means i might get to see her. but i think my colombia plans might be nixed. it's too late to plan for it, and i don't think i'll be able to get away from my job anyways. oh well, i think it was a nice pipe dream to begin with. but i do want to visit her or fly her out here sometime soon.
i had another bad night of sleep last night. it was another one of those "the tv was on until late, and i couldn't dream" nights. i woke up at 4am to find that my television was still on espn. so that means that i didn't get any REM cycles until after that. i did have this one semi-nightmare that i was in med school, and i was taking my finals, and the questions weren't about medicine, but rather about who all of my doctor friends' names were, and i couldn't remember any of them. it was horrible. luckily, i was able to wake up and push that dream aside and drop into another, more stressless, dream.
march is gonna be a fun month. i've got stuff already planned for each of the upcoming weekends. (they are, in order: jimmy's bachelor party, jimmy's wedding, mikeT's birthday party, and the warriors/mavericks bball game.) and not to mention, all the NCAA tournament as well. march madness! i really hope that stanford does decently this year. as long as they don't face a super-athletic team, i really do think that they can make a good run. i think that their current ranking (#7) is a little generous, though, given their point guard issues, but still, their front line is one of the best in the country. (personally, i think we should be ranked around #15 or so.)
i miss my tv shows. stupid writers strike. i wonder what's going to happen with _scrubs_. this was supposed to be the final season, so are they going to finish up the show next year or end it in a couple of episodes this year? i have a love-hate relationship with elliot reid (sarah chalke). on one hand, i think her face is not that pretty, but she has a pretty nice body, especially her chest. so i can't decide if i'd do her or not. maybe if it were dark, and i couldn't see, i'd go for it. i do like her neurotic character, though.
i have a weird thing about neurotic or bitchy girls. i'm attracted to them. like, the thing about facebook girl that drew me to her was the fact that her profile picture looked really mean. i mean, she is just glaring at the camera. and i dig that. is there something wrong with me? *ponder*
ok, time to jet. ttyl!
so friday night, i met up with this girl i met over facebook (i'll call her fb girl). i drove up to the city with her and her best friend (this computer science ph.d. grad student dude at stanford). we were going to this concert, the noise pop festival at the independent on divisadero. the problem was, the guy and two of fb girl's friends had tickets, but she and i didn't. and the show was sold out. it took us a grueling 20 minutes to find parking (that's why i HATE the city), and there were quite a few people looking for tickets as well.
so to make a long story short, we couldn't get in. we waited over an hour, hoping that they'd release some more tickets, but that didn't happen. so fb girl and i just wound up having dinner at this cool restaurant across the street. she called up an old childhood friend of hers, and when she came to pick her up, i drove home on my own at like midnight or so. all in all, the night was a bust concert-wise, but at least i had a good with talking to fb girl at dinner. by the way, the lamb shank i had at the restaurant (sorry, i couldn't find out the name of the restaurant, but it was across the street from the independent) was damn tasty.
the next day, i was supposed to meet up with a small bunch of taiko peeps, but carol and gina were both tired from their medical stints in the city, so i called it off. so i wound up watching the stanford/wazzu game by myself at home. man, it started off badly. in a flash, we were down 11-1, and down 11 points (33-22) at halftime. but we came back to win it, and that was damn satisfying. yay!
afterwards, i took a nap, and then i watched most of the kansas/kansas state game to scout out michael beasley, who some people say will be the #1 pick in the nba draft. then, i met up with some folks at korea house for dinner. i had kimchee jige for the first time (we usually order the soon doo boo). it was good, i think i'll order it again.
it was good seeing paul and leeya again. paul's been working like a maniac, so i haven't really talked to him in over a month. after dinner, we went over to his place and watched two episodes of tv online: _the apprentice: celebrity edition_ and _lost_. the latter was pretty interesting; i have never seen _lost_ before, and now i'm wondering if i should start. it's very mysterious. man, i hate getting hooked on shows, and this is one of those series where you have to follows every episode. and you know me and my OCD. ugh. should i watch it?
sunday, my coworker D came over, and we ordered a pizza (medium domino's with pepperoni, sausage and mushrooms) and watched the lakers/mavericks game. he's a big lakers fan. the mavericks lost in overtime, but i think they're still gelling with kidd. i wasn't too bummed out, but man, we had our chances. D did his laundry at my place, so while his stuff dried, we went to yogurt fantasy. the dude didn't give me enough mochi, grrr.
after D left, i hung out at home for a bit, and then i grabbed pho with nelson. then, we went to mikeC's place to chill for a bit, watching the end to some _futurama_ movie. then, we met up with paul and leeya at tap-ex for some peal tea, talked a bit, and then called it a night.
so yeah, a lot of basketball. i had already watched three live games earlier in the week, and i watched three games this weekend. i'm going to meet up with diana on thursday to watch the highly-anticipated stanford/UCLA game. that should be a good one. but yeah, i'm sort of bball-ed out. just in time for march madness, though. :)
