poor D. we tried a new place in cupertino village for lunch today (guan dong house), and he ordered this noodle dish. it turned out to be a cold noodle thing with this nasty sesame sauce, not what he expected. he ate less than 10 bites of it and quit. ugh. i ordered dumplings, and they weren't bad. but D wasted a good $7 or so, and he said it ruined his day. :( as a consolation, he treated himself to some pearl milk tea afterwards.
so i'm going to my first company function ever (i've worked here for almost 4 years). it's a boat party, sailing around the bay for four hours. i blogged about this, didn't i? well anyways, i finally RSVP'ed. i hope it's not boring, but like i said, once you're on the boat, you're not getting off. i thought about bringing a date, but i wouldn't want to potentially subjecting someone to a lame night. i really hope this will be fun.
i know very few guys who put the toilet seat down after they take a leak. it happened again today at guan dong house. i was at the urinal, and this random guy came in. (it was a single-occupancy bathroom, so it was kind of uncomfortable with him in there.) after he took a leak at the toilet, he just washed his hands (thankfully) and left. i lowered the seat for him before washing my own hands. sigh. a lot of my friends don't do it, either, but i just let it go. i wonder what their girlfriends say (assuming they have one).
actually, i think the female ejaculation liquid is *not* urine. it smells a little similar, but it's not as strong. i've read up on it a little bit, but i forget the physiological details. anyways, it's interesting stuff. i have one video where the guy frigs the girl (several times) until she repeatedly shoots. it's quite fascinating. her urethra puffs out when she squirts.
so it's time to start thinking about getting my yearly physical. ugh. i don't mind it, except for the blood test. that thick slanted needle scares the shit out of me. and plus, i have to hold in my tics when they draw blood, which makes it extra-anxious. last year, they had to hold me down while they did it. i got a letter a few months back from my doctor saying that he was retiring, so now i have to find a new family practice physician. more hassle. i'm worried about my cholesterol level. at least i've been exercising, whereas in 2006, i played basketball only once the entire year.
yes, i know that the birth control pill is taken regularly, not before sex. i had a friend who took it every night 9pm sharp. she even had an alarm for it. has anyone ever gotten the shot? i think it's called something like "depo provera." it sounds pretty cool, because all you need is one shot, and it lasts for 3 months. i do wonder, though; if you have side effects, do they last for the entire time? that would suck. i had one friend who went on the pill in college, and she bled constantly. and another one went into depression. so certain pills aren't for everyone; sounds scary because you never know what side effects you might get.
i've had bad experiences with drugs myself. when i overdosed on haldol, i was a big mess. i kept on standing up and falling down. (yes, that sounds funny, but trust me, it was fucking scary.) and then, later, when i was on another high dosage of haldol, i became an insomniac, was incredibly sensitive to light, and then one morning, i started hearing noises in my head. crazy shit.
i've also had good experiences with drugs, too. after all, drugs exist on the market for a reason, right? like, when i was suicidal, i was prescribed effexor. that drug made me insanely happy. like, i was bouncing off the walls and stuff, and i couldn't sleep because i was so excited for the next day. (nuts, right?) eventually, though, i got off of it because it also took away my sex drive, like, i couldn't maintain a stiffy or blow my wad. but still, i don't think i have ever been as happy (for no good reason). very strange, looking back.
jack told me about a freakish coincidence: this past week, both the stanford men and stanford women beat oregon by the exact same score. wow! what are the odds of that? anyway, the men are ranked #7, and the women #6. let's keep it going! *knocks on wood*
i just remembered that back at my previous residence, i used to smoke naked after jay moved out (and before alan moved in). we had a top-level condo, and sometimes, after my shower, i would dry off and have a cigarette on the balcony as my nightcap. it was nice. right now, i have an empty bedroom with a balcony, but i'm too lazy to move everything over. but that gives me an idea; maybe i could just walk over before going to bed and have that smoke. *ponder* nighttime naked smokes are very peaceful.
i was looking at my ass before taking a shower the other day, and it's not very big. meaning, i sort of wish it was just *slightly* bigger and shapelier. ha! do i sound like a girl? i'm ignorant on this, but what kind of ass do girls look for in a guy? i really have no clue.
ok, i'm not getting any more work done today. but tomorrow! i'm going to do some coding. i promise.
ah, the weather is BEAUTIFUL these days. like i said, it's like spring came early.
friday night, i met up with john and grace at A&J. their beef noodle soup was pretty good that night, or maybe i was just hungry. i spied edric walking by outside, so he joined us to chat. we had to hurry and order (and eat) because the place closed down at 9 (we got there at 8:45).
afterwards, i met up with nelson and geoff at california billiards to shoot some pool. man, i suck. i didn't sink a single ball on purpose (i sank some by accident, though). i played some my junior and senior year in college, but those skills have long since died. i only played one game and left due to some gassy stomach cramps; i let out a lot of farts on the way back home.
saturday, 7 of us had dim sum (my 5th time in two weeks) at dynasty. ah, dim sum. i can't get tired of this stuff. after the meal, i fought off the food coma and went to palo alto to pick up my luggage (i was getting it fixed, but they didn't fix it right. i complained a bit, but i let it go) and then went all the way back to cupertino/sunnyvale to edric's house to play some rock band. the drums are pretty fun! i had some coordination issues, and then i played some guitar as well. i refused to sing, though; i can't carry a tune.
then, we went over to the benton/lawrence area to play some basketball. first we played some horse, which i won. then, the two girls and i played against the three boys. first, we won 7-3, and then we won 7-6. if edric had guarded me, i wouldn't have made most of my shots.
i rushed off at 4:30 to watch the stanford/oregon state game. at first, it was pretty close, and we were even down by 7 points. but then, we went on 15-0 run to close out the first half, and we coasted from there. it was a decent game, i suppose, and i was glad that we won. we're ranked #7 now in one of the polls!
during the game, john called me up and asked if i wanted to watch the warriors game. i said yes, so we grabbed some mcdonald's (both of us got a tasty filet o'fish and a $1 mcchicken). i really like playing with the dogs, tachi and buddy. if i weren't such a lazy ass and afraid of picking up poo, i'd get a dog. later on, nelson and mikeC came over, and we finished watching the 4th quarter together.
sunday was more of a bust. i couldn't find anybody to eat lunch with, so i just grabbed some fast food (a sourdough jack and 3 mozzarella sticks) and watched the pro bowl. at first, i wasn't planning on watching it, but then, i wanted two things: to watch tony romo play, and to soak in the last of the football season. it was a pretty good game; romo threw two touchdowns, and the NFC won 42-30.
in the middle of the game (during the lame halftime show), i got a hankering for some frozen yogurt, so i made a trip to yogurt fantasy and got my standard medium tart with mochi. it was good, but a little icy this time. i hope they get their temperature right next time. but still... the mochi is awesome.
i really wanted to watch _atonement_, and at first, jennie said she was going to watch it with me, but then her roommate downloaded it, so she bailed. oh well. so i wound up just watching more sports (the UNC/clemson game) before heading off to another chinese new year dinner, this time with jay and margaret at hunan homes. i had made a reservation at 6:30, preordering a peking duck. i LOVE peking duck. fatty, tasty skin! we also ordered sizzing rice soup, honey walnut shrimp, and string beans a la hunan.
after dinner, i went to pizza chicago to hang out with john, geoff and greg, and then we went over to greg's place to play some wii. and that was it for my weekend.
man, i wonder i'll ever get to watch _atonement_. i love keira knightley. btw, no comments on my list of nubiles?
