the rents are here!

hey folks. my parents got here this morning, while i was dreaming about having 100 pairs of shoes and a machine called "nuvi." (yes, i know it's the name of my GPS.) i was very excited when they pulled up outside my doorstep. it's so good to have them around, although i had to go to work. if i can get my shit together at the office, i might ask my boss for friday off. it helps that we finally got the bug resolved this afternoon. it turned out to be an initialization/testbench issue, and not a real RTL bug. *phew*

my mom went into my room, and immediately expressed a strong desire to clean up and dust. i responded by pushing her out into the hallway and closing the door behind us. i really hope she doesn't dig into my closet and find my porn. yikes! last night, i watched some of it, sort of like a "farewell to porn" since i won't be able to view any for a while. i think lexus is sort of hot, despite her fake boobs. i hate the way artificially enhanced breasts look when the girl is leaning over, and you can see the weird vertical dimples that the implants make.

so tila tequila! she didn't pick the person i wanted her to. too bad. the third place girl was really ugly, though. that amazon woman. ick. bobby's mom was getting on my nerves, though. i mean, it's one thing to tout your son, but who actually goes out and says that your kid is cuter than another's child? that's just tactless! grr...

lots of good sports to watch tonight. mavericks are on, stanford men play tonight after a long lay-off due to finals week, and the celtics and pistons are going head-to-head. but, my parents are in town, and i'm taking them to meet up with one of my mom's old friends, so i'm just going to tape _the real world_. ashli and dunbar fight! dunbar's just an asshole with a real anger management issue. he's my least favorite person on the show. i think kellyAnne's the cutest girl.

i had lunch with ben today. it was good seeing him today, and he dressed really slickly, like he usually does. he was wearing a velvet blazer! wow, smooth. we had pho in milpitas, at this place called "pho today." i wouldn't recommend going there, though. they don't give enough meat, and it's semi-expensive, as far as pho goes. ($6.75 for a large bowl) i look forward to playing basketball with him again, but that'll probably be next year. i'm done with bball in 2007. it was one of my new year's resolutions of this year, and i'm very glad that i stuck with it. i only played once in 2006, and i really needed to get off of my ass and get some exercise, so at first, it was like a chore, but now i really enjoy playing again.

watching basketball on tv inspires me be better when i play. i always get these ideas of how to translate these plays i see to what i want to do on the court myself, but reality always sets in, and i find that i'm just not as athletic or mindful as the pros. it's sort of depressing, actually. like, i want to do a crossover move, or i want to be more court-aware, but in the end, i turn the ball over or stumble or forget where my teammates are. it's sad how bad i am compared to the NBA (or even college) players. i really wish i had some formal training in basketball fundamentals. i see people like D, who can dribble with both hands, between their legs, behind their backs, and do no-look passes while driving, and i just feel futile on the court. oh well. i'll take my regrets and transfer these wishes to my kids by giving them sports lessons.

ok, i know this is a short entry, but i want to go home and see my parents now. talk to you later? yup.
