wedding ass

haha. my coworker A is funny. i told him i was going to my cousin's wedding during the winter break, and he responded, "you know, weddings are a good place where you can score some ass." hehe. his advice to me was to smoke a joint so i wouldn't tic, and then to "hit it." i mean, this guy is probably in his 50's, but he talks like a 20-year-old. he's one cool dude.

my stomach hurts. i wasn't that hungry when lunchtime came, but when D and i got in my car, i decided to drive to su's mongolian bbq. i had a big bowl of stuff, and i put in way too much (two full scoops) of chili paste. so now i'm paying for it, although i'll truly be paying the price when i take my dump tomorrow morning. but it was worth it. yum, mongolian bbq.

i'm sort of worried about christmas break. i'm staying local until christmas day (when i fly to LA to meet my family), but i think i'll be alone until then. i bet most of my local friends will be with family, so who will i hang out with? hm. maybe i should have book my flight earlier. we'll see. it might be nice to have some time to myself to decompress, but i'm thinking i'll be really bored with my thumb up my ass.

i had a dream last night that geoff died of a stroke. i was very sad. and for some weird reason, they were selling japanese books at his funeral. i woke up feeling very morose; it was a very real dream to me. i think this all stemmed from my IM conversation with geoff sunday night, where he told me that he was sick and puking all weekend, which got me really concerned about his health and all.

my taiko friends at the mountain view buddhist temple got up at 5:30am sunday morning to do mochizuki (mochi making). apparently, this was a huge production. i wanted to go check out this huge machine that pounds the rice. according to dishi, it was a grand event, with rows and rows of people involved in the process. i imagined it to be like a willy wonka-like factory; it would have been a sight to behold. unfortunately, by the time i was free, it was like 2pm, and when i called up susan, they were already done. drat. maybe next year.

i'm not sure i agree with tony romo's romantic taste. carrie underwood, britney spears, and now jessica simpson? ok, i have nothing against carrie, but those last two... hm. i don't think i approve. did you know that jessica went to my high school? i saw a link today where you can buy the pink tony romo football jersey that she was wearing at the game. i think it'd be a cute gift to buy a girl, if she were a dallas cowboys fan. ah, it'd be great if my next girlfriend were a 'boys fan. that would be a really nice cherry on top.

i broke down today and scheduled a massage. i really dinged up a nerve on the left side of my neck, and i need some work done on it. i used to get a massage every two weeks (thursdays), but since my neck tics are rather well-behaved these days, i haven't been going in. but today, this nerve thing is really killing me, so i really need to do something about it.

so greg and cheryl are hosting a holiday party this saturday, complete with a gift exchange. hm. $20 limit. what to get for the gift exchange. anybody got an idea of what i can buy? last year, i got a set of police-issue handcuffs (yes, that was the kinky side of me acting up). i really don't want to brave the mall, but it looks like i don't have a choice this time, because there's not enough time to order something online and wait for it to ship. rats. *ponder* give me some suggestions! (greg says no gift cards and no gift baskets.)

i'm looking forward to having smoke breaks with my dad when he comes out. that's what we did last year. it's sort of like a mini-bonding session because when you smoke, you talk. i gotta remember to pack enough cigarettes for two when i head down to LA. and maybe i need to buy a new lighter as well, since i'm not going to risk them confiscating my zippo at the airport.

what is it about burgers that makes them unhealthy? is it the fat in the ground beef? and the cheese, right? two of my coworkers (J and D) eat a lot of burgers. J likes mcd's, and D likes in and out. and they go there A LOT. i tell them to lay off the burgers because it'll make them fat and give them heart attacks, but they're not listening. in fact, they're organizing a company lunch trip to in and out tomorrow.

ok, that's it for me. massage in 28 minutes!

just meals

friday night, nelson and i hit up los charros for some mexican food. nelson got his usual two carnitas tacos, and i couldn't finish my super carnitas wet burrito. afterwards, we went to the tied house for drinks. he got an oatmeal stout, and i got a jameson on the rocks. they have johnnie walker blue "on tap" for $33 a shot! i wonder how many people get that. we watched the 3rd quarter of the warriors/lakers game, and then we left. we were supposed meet up with paul and leeya for tapioca, but they turned out to be tied up until midnight, so we left.

i went home and finished watching the basketball game. it was amazing! baron davis hit a crazy 3-pointer to go up 4 with 16 seconds left, and the warriors pulled out a 2-point victory.

saturday, five of us went to prolific oven for some brunch/lunch. i got the mexican omelet. it was ok, nothing special. afterwards, aimee and i went to safeway to buy some groceries. she got some ingredients to cook some chili, and i got a big fruit plate and a bag of shrimp chips. after heading back to join the gang after they finished their meals, nelson, mikeC and i headed back to mikeC's place to watch this NFL films piece on tom brady, peyton manning, and brett favre. then, i headed home.

i watched my recording of _the next great american band_. ah, light of doom finally got voted off! i am liking the clark brothers more and more, and of course, they're wholesome and religious and pretty, and i think the producers really want them to win it all. then, i took a little nap.

after that, i headed over to linda and steve's place (with my big fruit plate) for their taiko-peeps holiday/defense party. it's a "defense" party because barden successfully defended his thesis. hooray! linda cooked three yummy casseroles (with some corners with no mushrooms, because dishi hates mushrooms for some insane reason), and rosh/joy brought over some tasty mochi ice cream. susan and ray brought some interesting beef/gorgonzola sui mai thingies, and barden brought over a red bean rice dish.

the weirdest thing was that ALL five women we were purple. what are the odds of that? they had their picture taken. :) i stayed there until about 10:30 or so, and then went home and slept.

sunday, i had lunch at king noodle. it was a quick one, and then i went home and followed the cowboys/eagles game while watching the raiders game. the cowboys lost! and only scored SIX points! ARGH. we should be peaking right now, not having an offensive lull. what's worse, our starting center (gurode) got injured, and tony romo sprained his thumb on his throwing hand. shit. this is bad news. the only good thing is that we have a first round bye. that ruined my day.

i putzed around a bit, called up some friends (carolyn and dave, and dj), and then met up with alan and ting at shan (an indian restaurant). the food was only ok, but i did like their okra masala dish. i love okra! it was good and spicy. the other stuff (chicken tikka masala, chicken curry) wasn't that special, though. after that, i just went home and watched sportscenter until bedtime.

yeah, so that was my weekend, centered mostly around meals. i gotta find more stuff to do during my afternoons. and poor geoff got sick all weekend. *sniffs*
