thanksgiving food deja vu

ah, friday. we had a free lunch today at the office, and it was just like the thanksgiving free lunch a few weeks ago: mashed potatoes, turkey, pumpkin pie (which i didn't have, i had pecan instead, and it was too sweet). this time, though, i got the full-fat gravy, and it was good. the rest of the food sucked, though, as usual. I am waiting for them to cater in some chinese or japanese food, which is better.

last night, i invited my coworker D to my place to watch the lakers/spurs game. he's a big lakers fan, so he got really excited and happy; he even clapped his hands when i asked him over! he's a recent cal grad, and apparently, he doesn't have any friends in berkeley (they all moved away or something). i feel sad for him. sometimes, after work, he goes and watches movies by himself at the theaters. so i've sort of taken him under my wing, and we have lunch every day, except when we play basketball. i would ask him to be my roommate, except that i really want to continue living alone.

today, while i was taking a leak, i must have not pulled my foreskin all the way back enough, so the stream must have caught the lower lip, and it started dribbling down, and i wound up pissing all over my right hand. ick. i remembered a _man vs. wild_ episode where the dude drank his own urine, so i thought about giving it a taste, but in the end, i held back. i'm not THAT gross, i decided. it would have been an interesting blog story to tell, though, hehe. i also remember the "yellow snowcone" bit from _jackass: the movie" where ehren pissed into the snow and ate it, and he wound up puking it all out. ha!

i've almost got 100 friends on facebook now. so, i guess it *is* possible to have a lot of friends on there. but, like i said before, the number of "true" friends is far lower. the way i use to judge is by asking the question, "how many of them would you invite to your wedding?" ah, it would only be a small fraction of them. so i guess a lot of these friends are mere acquaintances.

why do we like to drink carbonated beverages? who came up with the idea of using carbonated water in the first place? it seems sort of random to me. fizzy water, hm. who knew.

man, it gets really cold at night here. either that, or i really can't take the cold anymore. these days, i wear a t-shirt (usually a long-sleeved one) and a sweatshirt. it's not enough. what else can i wear? a fleece? i don't know where my fleeces are. i wonder what bill belichick (the patriots' head coach) wears. when i see him on the sidelines, he's always wearing just a hooded sweatshirt, even when it's freezing out there. maybe he has a lot of layers underneath? yeah, maybe it's time to wear two t-shirts.

congrats to barden for successfully defending! man, it's about time! let's see... i think he was a senior when i was a freshman back in 1992, so that means he's been at stanford almost 20 years. !! wow! i found out from emi last night, and i called him to congratulate him afterwards. good job, man. a celebration is in order.

how good is babymaking sex? i mean, it's gotta be awesome, right? no need to worry about birth control, you get to boink as much as you want/can, etc. i mean, when i congratulate people on getting pregnant, deep down (well, not THAT deep) i want to tell them, "congratulations on all the carefree sex you had!" hehe.

i've heard/read somewhere that it's very dangerous to inflate the vagina. why is that? i mean, i don't think it's a natural desire to blow into the hole, but i'm curious as to why puffs of air are dangerous to a woman's body.

and i still don't get why they use condoms in porn. it's such a turn-off. and that reminds me, i gotta hide my porn stash before my parents get here.

i really hope my mom is ok when she comes out here to the states. her health hasn't been that great these past few years, and without american medical insurance, she can't afford a breakdown of any sort. she's going to be here for like a month, so she's loading up on all her doctor's visits and drugs in taiwan before she comes. *crossed fingers*

health insurance is so crazy in the US. it's so expensive! i mean, without it, my own drug costs would set me back a couple hundred $$ a month. (i'm on four medications right now.) and i've thought about quitting my job here and becoming a contractor to make more money, but then, i'd have to get my own health insurance, and i bet that would cut deeply into my income. hm. maybe i should talk to one of my contractor friends about that. it sucks being chronically sick.

ok, that's it for this week. have a STUPENDOUS weekend, folks!
