so tomorrow is S's last day at the company. today, we took him to aroy-dee (thai buffet) for his farewell lunch. i'm sad. after he leaves, there's only one more design-side engineer (W) left from the startup days. damn. one of the main reasons why i came back is to work with familiar faces, and slowly, over these three+ years, they've all left. wtf? i mean, i guess it's a natural process in silicon valley, but i'm being selfish, and i want everyone to stay. *RAAR*
yeah, i didn't think there was a business class on southwest, either. but there were two higher price classes when i booked the tickets. what are these? they were called "business select" or something like that. maybe these people get to board earlier or something? *shrug*
i hate getting papercuts. i got one earlier this week, and it burned when i got in the shower. i remember when i watched one of the _jackass_ movies, and they purposely gave each other papercuts on the webbing of their toes. *cringes* OUCH. that was one part where i really got the heebie-jeebies. i LOVE jackass, and i think it's a brilliant show, and for the most part, i find what they do to be hilarious, but man, when they showed that part, i started freaking out inside.
so women ever get their pubes permanently removed? i'd be all for that. one of my ex's once shaved her pubes, and i was SO turned on by that. the problem is, though, that when it grows back, the stubble can itch, and for me, the little follicles can get quite sharp when i chow box. annoying! but yeah, shaved vadges are such a cool thing to behold in real life.
so the mitchell report is quite a stunner. fyi, this is a congressional (i think) report on the performance enhancing drugs role in major league baseball, and it came out today, naming a ton of players that have allegedly used them. big names been linked, including roger clemens, andy pettitte, and miguel tejada. crazy! i mean, roger clemens? i am shocked! he, of course, is outraged and denies any use of steroids and the like, but still, i think he's in deep shit.
i had such a good sleeping session last night. the difference was that i took my meds before eating. doing that makes me very drowsy, so after i watched _the real world_ (dunbar is such a meathead asshole) and took a shower, i hit the sack, and i was just out cold within a few minutes. i don't even remember a single story from the _sportscenter_ that i turned on. (and, i don't even remember turning the tv off, either.) now THAT's good sleep!
the cut in my right nostril isn't healing. it's because i pick out the scab every morning. yeah, i love picking my nose. i'm getting all these red pieces out from that nostril, and it hurts when i do so. shit, i need to stop and let it be, but i'm so addicted!
can someone explain to me what ISO 9001 is? my company is ISO 9001 certified, and i vaguely remember going to a meeting about that a few years ago, but i came out still not knowing what the hell it was about. it's some sort of compliance thing, right? all i know is that we are supposed to fill out some form when we do something. *ponder*
i bought another song off of iTunes yesterday. it's "overkill" by men at work. i discovered it while watching an episode of _scrubs_, when that dude (apparently it's colin hay?) with the guitar randomly appeared in the hospital singing it. it's a catchy tune. i got the original version of it, but there's also an acoustic version which i might download as well.
i miss hanging out with paul. he's been working like a dog at this new startup he joined; i used to see him a few times during the week, but lately, he's been up late at night at the office slaving away. man, i didn't know he had such stamina. i hope it's worth it. i've certainly never worked that hard before, even when i was at my previous startups.
i found joy on facebook today. she was probably one of the hottest girls in my high school. i think she's half french and half italian. you know, those italian girls. i met one of them when i worked in japan. she once told me that when she gets drunk, she is very "dangerous" to men. i'm not sure if she used the word correctly (maybe she couldn't find the right word to translate from italian to english), but after she said it, all i wanted to do was to feed her alcohol and be one of her conquests. :)
that night, i met another cute girl, mieko. i was buzzing off of japanese whiskey, so i somehow found a set of balls and just went up and talked to her. i even got her phone number! haha. that was the first (and only) time i got a stranger's digits. mieko. i wonder how she's doing. she made a visit out to stanford a year later, and she bought me a little totoro.
ok, almost 6pm. time to post this baby and get ready to leave.
