nice! so my c-model finally matched the architect's matlab model, so i'm done with one milestone this week. the final problem was solved when we found out that matlab's rounding was different from hardware shifting for negative numbers. matlab rounded down (more negative), whereas shifting would round up. ah, tricky arithmetic!
man, the patriots should have lost last night. they were helped twice on their 4th down conversation late in the game, once by a ravens timeout, and once by their own false start penalty. hm. they're looking human now, and i wonder if next week will be the week when they finally lose (to the steelers). i'm not sure how i feel about them. on one hand, i want them to go undefeated just so the '72 dolphins shut up, but then again, if the run into my cowboys in the super bowl, of course i'll be rooting for dallas.
i had a good basketball outing today. in the first two games, i was shooting lights out, so much so that the other team was talking about adjusting their defense just for me. *flattered* but then, i got shut down in our final game. i did have the opportunity to shoot for the win at the end (tied 10-10, playing to 11), but i missed, and the other team won on the next possession. still, i felt good about my performance today. it's always up and down for me; i need more consistency.
so in my job, we get to use test images and patterns to try out our video algorithms. i noticed today that the architect was using this picture of a sexy girl in the c-model/matlab model that we were matching. hehe. in the past, when i was doing this sort of stuff, i used images from final fantasy VII. in fact, i'm still using a picture from that video game (the girl tifa) as my desktop picture at work as well as at home. even though i never got very far in that game, it made a big impact on me. the artwork was beautiful, and it was a big milestone for its time as far as RPG's go.
so what do you think of katie holmes' new hairdo? i'm not sure what to make of it. (fyi, she got this bob haircut.) i like short hair on girls, but it looks a bit too short on her tall frame. *shrug* leeya's hair is sort of like it, and she got it done months ago. leeya's a fashion visionary! haha
so it seems like most of the shows i watch are on hiatus due to the strike. sigh. what to watch? i think there's one more episode of _scrubs_ left that's new, and after that, the only new stuff that i'm currently watching is _the next great american band_, which sucks, by the way. i'm only watching it because of my OCD. trust me, none of the bands left are bands that i would pay to listen to. and what's going to happen to movies? hollywood doesn't have the luxury of reality tv, so is there going to be a lull of films coming out?
the more i think about it, the more i wonder how my early morning routine came about. lately, i've been sleeping in until 11am or so on weekdays, and i just can't get out of bed. i blame it on the cold weather and the warmth of my blankets which just makes me want to snuggle forever. but yeah, it was so weird a few months back, when i would get up at 8:30 and feel refreshed. i simply can't explain it.
so re: those disgusting sex links that my friend P sent me. i can't deny that i'm curious as to what the other videos depict. my imagination is pretty weak, so i have no clue what they might show. i mean, you've got two girls licking shit out of a cup, you've got a girl jamming a dildo into a guy's meatus, and you've got what i can only construe as genital mutilation. but what else is there? sexual deviants are so creative! it amazes me what crazy stuff they come up with to get them off. like, how did they come around, thinking, "hey, i think i'm going to do this today, because i find it arousing." nuts, right? but no, i'm not going to watch those videos, because i think there are some things i'd rather not know.
do you smell you when you dream? i think last night i dreamt that i was smoking out, but i clearly remember not being able to smell the sweet stench of pot. the last time i tried getting high, i couldn't because i had eaten a huge burrito before, and i guess all that food must have sucked up all the chemicals or something. we watched _winged migration_ afterwards, which would have been a great movie to see while baked. oh well. to be honest, though, getting stoned is not one of my favorite things to do. i just wind up swaying a lot and getting the munchies. one time, i must have eaten a pound of chili bits (oh man, how i love chili bits!) while high.
ah, tuesday. what to do tonight. no good tv on. although, tomorrow night's _the real world_ is gonna get juicy. dunbar and ashli sleep together! and dunbar has a girlfriend back home! evil temptation!
