incorrect integer casting

*phew* so the c-model i was working on finally passed today. apparently, it had some problems with "unsigned int" and "int" stuff; i was getting some huge positive numbers because i had incorrectly assigned negative numbers to "unsigned int" variables. tricky, tricky c! but now, that's over with, and i got the results i was expecting. yay!

i had a close call today after lunch. after we finished eating, i got a stomachache, and during the drive back, i had to take a dump. my stomach started to hurt really badly, and i had to hold my shit in during the entire ride. i kept on telling myself, "ok, we're 50% done with the ride," etc., until we finally got back. then, i *walked* briskly (a run would have opened up my sphincter) to the bathroom and let it all out. that was my 3rd dump in three and a half hours. man, that chipotle chicken pasta last night really did me in, although it didn't stop me from ordering some spicy tofu soup at the korean place we ate for lunch today.

i had a dream that i was in college, this time in freshman orientation. k1 was there, as well as my guy buddies. and since this was orientation, i didn't have any feelings for k1; she was just an attractive girl that i had just met. lately, i've been dreaming about school a lot. i have this recurring dream that i'm back in school pursuing a second specialty in EE. it's a continuing dream, meaning that i continue where i left off. currently, i have one more class to take, and i'm done; hm, i wonder what will happen when i finally finish that class.

so this year, with the company shutdown, i get 11 straight days off (including weekends). i can't wait! i don't have any real plans, aside from going to LA for a few days to attend my cousin's wedding. i hope people are around to hang out with. i want to take more days off because my parents will be in town both before and after the shutdown, but we're smack in the middle of a hectic project, and my boss has told me that i might not be able to take those days off. hrmph. we'll see.

my old facebook status was something like, "X is freezing his ass off in norcal." but then, i felt lame for saying that because i know that other areas of the states (and the world, for that matter) have it much worse. what the hell happened to my tolerance of cold weather? my freshman year in college, i wore shorts year round, and not only that, my roommate and i kept our windows open the entire year as well! but now, i feel chilled to the bone in 50-degree weather. what a wuss i've become. yeah, weak sauce.

i think i've had dim sum three weekends in a row. ever since grace's mom left, she's been clamoring for it, and i happily oblige because i love dim sum as well. we're the addicts of the bowling gang. i wonder how long we can keep it up. dim sim ain't cheap. i am still shocked that the two of us were able to eat $38 worth yesterday. one other thing that i hunger for, though, is sushi. i haven't had sushi in a long time, and i think i'm gonna need my fix soon.

does vegemite go bad? i have a packet of it from cheryl's trip to australia, and that was well over a month ago. i have yet to go get brunch (or a meal that serves toast) since then, so i'm still carrying it around with me wherever i go. i even suggested going to IHOP today for lunch, but the guys didn't feel like it. i really want to try this stuff out!

i'm getting a lot of comments about my hair these days. it's getting long, and because of my pillow and the way i sleep, i get this triangular mohawk on the top of my head. ah, i guess it's time to get it cut then. today, one of the managers called me a rooster. :/ maybe i should wear a hat.

ah, hats. there was a time in college where i was known for wearing a baseball cap all the time. i owned at least 15 caps. and the thing is, the other day, i was digging around in my closet, and i found my bag of caps! so maybe i'll start wearing them from time to time so people don't make fun of my hair. the thing is, though, with my tics, i keep having to adjust them, so it gets to be a little bit annoying.

i have this one hat i found in japan. it has a picture of a guy pointing a gun at a girl's head (the pictures are like the ones you find above bathroom signs), and the word underneath says "bitch." i'm not misogynistic or anything, but i laughed when i first saw it, and i bought it immediately. it turns out "bitch" is the name of a skateboard brand. they have a reverse picture that says "prick" too. but yeah, i don't think i can wear this hat outside japan; i'd probably get my ass kicked. the same thing with my "white trash" hat (it has a picture of a trailer above it).

ok, time to wrap this one up. ciao!

the pop-in

friday night, i got home, and i was sucked in to watching the celtics/heat game, so by the time i finished, everybody had dinner plans. so i just got taco bell and watched _the next great american band_ at home. damn, light of doom keeps on getting voted through, and this time at the expense of my favorite band, tres bien. hrmph.

saturday, nelson, mikeC and i had lunch at 1pm at la bamba. i got the carnitas quesadilla (not hungry enough for a burrito), and then, we spent the next few hours fixing nelson's garage door. it was a pretty big task, swapping out the top two panels; mike had to go home to get his power drill because we needed to drill a couple of new holes to fit some screws in. it was pretty cold, so for a while, i sat in my car because it was warmer in there.

after that was done, i rushed home to watch the second half of the big game. we won! 20-13! i really don't know what happened to cal this season. they were ranked as high as #2 in the nation, and then, they lost 6 of their last 7 games. too bad for them. but i'm glad we got the axe back. i called peter, who was actually at the game, and he sent me a picture message of the students storming the field.

then, i drove over to adam and rae's house, where adam cooked me his famous beef noodle soup. i had been waiting for this for like a year, hehe, and i was not disappointed. his soup was very tasty, and he even cooked tendon! yum. adam said that one of his secret ingredients was the szechuan peppercorns, which is now available in the states. yummy shit. we hung out for a bit, and then i convinced the two of them to go watch _the mist_ in the theaters.

i drove off to grace's house, but while i was on the 17 south, i got a call from nelson saying they were leaving there, but i decided to pop in and say hi to grace anyway. it was a good thing that i did so, because that was how i made plans for lunch the next day.

after i left, i headed off to paul's place to hang out for a bit. they were getting ready to play command and conquer, but once they started that up, i left because i realized it was 11, and i wanted to watch sportscenter and see how the #1 and #2 teams went down.

sunday, i met up with grace, and the two of us proceeded to eat $38 worth of dim sum at dynasty. it was gluttonous. i didn't even get my leek dumplings nor my turnip cake, but it was a feast nonetheless. i ate so much that after i got home and turned on the football game, i passed out for 2.5 hours. after i woke up, i watched some football and the BCS selection show. ohio state again? hm. i think their 50+ day lay off is going to hurt them just like it did last year.

for dinner, i met up with some folks at prolific oven (nelson's suggestion) and got the chipotle chicken pasta, extra spicy. (i am paying for it today, having taken two spicy dumps already.) then, i popped in at alan and ting's place. alan was stressed out at work, since he was leaving on a 6am flight to dallas for work, so i tried not to bother him too much. and plus, he and ting were getting sick, too bad. i hung out there for a while, and then, when they left to get some remedial pho, i left as well.

and that was it. i wish i had done more on sunday, but oh well.
