free gombei meal

so for my birthday, J and D took me out for lunch. or, rather, i took them to gombei (their first time), and they paid for my meal. i LOVE gombei; it's my favorite restaurant. i got the chicken katsu curry, and it was delish. however, i ate all my rice, and it gave me quite a food coma afterwards. it was worth it, though. and those two guys liked their meals as well. yay for homestyle japanese cooking!

i am still on a high from the _so you think you can dance_ show. i think i like this better than _american idol_. singing is just singing, but dancing is more captivating, i think. it's more visually pleasing than a guy or girl standing on a stage belting on a song, unless it's taylor hicks going all tourettic, hehe. i just spent 15 minutes surfing lauren gottlieb's myspace page. man, i think she's sooo cute! too bad she has a boyfriend. apparently, some of her fans met her backstage and got pictures taken with her. i would have totally done that, had i known this was possible. i would have swooned in her presence!

so thank you all for your birthday well-wishes! i got over a dozen wall posts on facebook and a handful of e-mails. i feel so loved! *bows* hey, k.d., if you want to add me on facebook, go ahead and send out a friend request. just type my e-mail address (mouse over the "quoth dardi!") and do a search.

i went to the airport today to pick up my coworker D, who was flying in from LA. traffic was virtually nonexistent, which was a nice change. when i dropped him off thanksgiving eve (isn't that the busiest travelling day of the year?), it was horrendous. and last night, while travelling to HP pavilion, alan's GPS (for some insane reason) directed him to go to the airport, and it was jam packed as well. ick.

two sex positions that i just don't appreciate are the reverse cowgirl (with the two sitting up and the girl's feet on the guy's thighs) and the spoon position. the first one just doesn't look comfortable, and it looks really tiring. and the second one looks like there's too much friction on the guy's butt side as he's going in and out. whenever i see those positions, i get really turned off. what's so hot about them? i guess that since the guy's technically going in from behind, he can get some deep penetation, but still, there are better ways to do it, imho.

so does anybody know what's going to happen with the writers' strike? are all the network primtime shows going down? damn, what the hell am i going to watch on weekday nights? nelson told me that _the office_ will get hit, and there are like only a few episodes left before it goes on hiatus. that sucks. speaking of tv, i've missed _the next great american band_ two weeks straight. it's on friday night, and i keep forgetting to tape it. maybe it's time for me to finally get a tivo?

one thing i don't get is how males can have sex with over males to exert their dominance. this happens in prison (so i've heard) and among dogs (so i witnessed last week with john's dog and a puppy named peanut). i mean, i don't think i would *ever* feel like having an ass fuck session with another dude just to let him know that i'm more powerful than him. is this normal? hm. human beings (and dogs as well) are very interesting animals.

for the next few days, i'm going to be having a lot of cake and pie. after jack's bbq, i took home an entire untouched birthday pecan pie. and then, at nelson's place, i got half of a prolific oven cheesecake. i love both. but enough to eat them all? i don't think so. but i'm going to try to finish them, because i don't want to see them go to waste. damn, i'm going to get fat.

i told my boss today during a smoke break that it was my birthday yesterday. he replied, "get a wife." ha!

google phrase of the day:

"will putting a jalepeno on a vagina make a woman hot"

surprisingly, i'm the #1 site for this one. but, um, err, i would not suggest doing this. it sounds very painful. at least, don't put the pepper on her clitoris; that sounds even more painful. anything spicy on sensitive parts of the body just sounds like a bad idea. not only have i put white lotus balm on my schlong's head, i have also gotten a blowjob from a girl who had just eaten indian curry, and man, that FUCKING HURT. !! so be careful out there! i know sex with food involved can be sensual and stuff, but stay away from spices!

and with that, i am done.

thanksgiving/birthday festivities

wednesday night, four of us met at xanh for dinner. leeya was craving and raving about their garlic noodles ($18), so i got them as well. it wasn't bad, and they came with four big tasty shrimp, but i still thought it was a bit pricey. afterwards, we went back to paul's place to check out his new 52" sony XBR4 LCD tv, and yeah, it was impressive.

thursday, i hit up hiroshi and joy's place for their turkey deep-fry party. before that, i went to nijiya to get a 12-pack of kirin ichiban beer. (unfortunately, i was disappointed to learn that this was no the authentic brewed-in-japan variety; it was still made in the USA.) i got a whopper jr. at BK as a snack, because we actually ate at 2-3pm or so. the turkey was good, but the best part by far was the skin. the tough part of the skin tasted like pork rinds, which was awesome. i watched the cowboys/jets game, and we destroyed new york. yay! all in all, we deep-fried five turkeys in five hours.

after that, i went over to grace's place, where grace and john cooked up a huge meal. john made ceviche and beer-can chicken, and grace made stewed pork, italian wedding soup, green bean casserole, and other stuff. my favorite was the soup. after gorging ourselves, i watched _independence day_ for the first time. oh, and we caught the USC/arizona state game as well.

i gained 3 pounds on thanksgiving day.

friday, paul, mikeC and i braved the fry's black friday. paul bought a motherboard and CPU, and he wanted a UPS as well, but they were all sold out. we got lucky with parking beforehand, but it still took us an hour to check out. and line started in the back near the tv's! geez. afterwards, we grabbed burrito's at chavez, and i was disappointed with mine because it was cold. then, i went off to do some errands (including mailing off the EP to k1), and i came back and watched mikeC play _call of duty 4_ on paul's PS3. he played for like 4 hours, and then he and i grabbed dinner at corner place. then, we headed over to nelson's place to hang out with nelson and geoff, and then, they all went to paul's to play LAN games while i went home at 11.

saturday, i went to jack and amy's new house in union city for my birthday BBQ. he has an awesome house. jack grilled up some veggies and kal bi, and grilled some chicken. the kids are all growing up! it was nice to hang out with the stanford crew again, and this was the first time that all four guys were there.

i left in the late afternoon, after hanging out at home for a while, nelson came and picked me up for my birthday dinner with the bowling gang at dusita. grace got me a big helium elmo balloon! a lot of people couldn't make it, so there were just 7 of us. we ordered too much food, but it was still really good. the papaya salad's spiciness kicked our asses.

afterwards, we went to nelson's house, where we watched _the incredibles_ on network tv while i proceeded to drink the equivalent of 5 shots of whiskey (jameson) and 3 shots of tequila. i felt ok; i was a little dizzy and slightly buzzed, but there was no way i could drive home. we hung out for a while, watched the thanksgiving episode of _SNL_, and then mikeC drove me home. of course, i puked as much alcohol as i could to get it out of my system, and then i just crashed.

sunday, i had dim sum with grace and john at dynasty. the service was kind of bad again (like last weekend), and we didn't get turnip cake or leek dumplings, and the carts kept skipping us for some reason. hm. aftewards, i went straight to adam's place to watch the chargers/ravens game, where i passed out during the first and second quarters. ah, food coma. the chargers won handily, which pleased adam.

i went home and then headed off to alan and ting's place, and we carpooled to HP pavilion to watch the _so you think you can dance_ show. it was awesome! i really enjoyed it. the crowd was really energetic (and full of screaming teenage girls cheering for neil, apparently), and my favorite dances were the two hip-hop ones (the transformers one with lauren and pasha and the slow-jam one with dominic and sabra). the three breakers dance was pretty good, too. lauren is damn hot. that's all i can say. i watched every episode of the show, and there was a long break between the last episode and this tour event, so it was like seeing old friends again. *bliss*

and that was the end of the weekend. it flew by all too quickly. *sigh* it was a good four days, though. and the cool thing was that with all the free meals, i spent less than $20 on food! i must give thanks to my friends for cooking for me and taking me out. *smile*
