hehe. i was talking to my coworker R, who was raving about his new nikon digital SLR. he said his pictures were "crispy" instead of "crisp." i almost laughed out loud. i imagined some deep-fried battered photographs. :)
so i haven't seen the coworker who calls me "darby." i'm not sure how to approach him and correct him. he's the same coworker who wears sunglasses on top of his head all day long. i find that very odd. i mean, what's the point of that? is there ever a time during the workday when he needs to slip them on? *ponder*
so i can't decide which cuisine gives me the worst food coma: dim sum or indian food. we had dim sum today, and man, when i got back, i just crashed in my cube for half an hour. i just bonked out. i did get to eat some leek dumplings, so now i have some pungent burps. yum. we ordered two batches of them, and the second one was nice and hot. we didn't get much food, though (we went to mayflower in milpitas), and it still came to $13 a head. i was upset that they charged us $1 each for tea. i don't even drink tea!
i'm glad they switched milk cartons to the ones that have the plastic spout instead of the ones that are all cardboard (and where you have to tear it open to make that foldable spout). it makes the milk last much longer. i still have milk that had a "sell by" date of 10/31. i smelled it today, and it still seemed fresh, which is good, because i'm planning on having a cereal dinner tonight.
so last night, i took jay, alan and ting to pho kim long. it was their first time there. ting had been bugging me to take them to places that i go with the bowling gang. (she also playfully ask me to introduce me to them, but i decline. i don't like to integrate my friends!) so, i've taken them to dynasty, and this time, to kim long. i recommended the #32 (the double pork chop and fried egg dish), and i showed them the #24 dish that i got. i hope they liked it.
so jay's all confirmed. he's signed his contract, found a rental home to live in, and he and margaret (and his two dogs, coco and kobe) will be moving back here next month! i'm so happy. he'll be living a bit far, though (in west san jose), but i don't mind driving that extra 15-20 minutes to see him. i think i'll actually start visiting next year, though; they're going to be taking a long vacation in chile/argentina after they finish moving.
so november's almost half over. this is my favorite month, and i feel like i'm not enjoying it enough. it's really blowing by fast. (fyi, i like november because the name sounds cool, because it has my favorite holiday, and because it contains my birthday.) time, slow down!
so i was e-mailing a friend of mine about kissing. she said she didn't care for it because her first few boyfriends were really bad kissers. (well, the first one was bad, and the second one had bad breath.) i was lucky. k1 was a really awesome kisser, and she had wonderful lips and a bad-ass tongue. how do people learn how to kiss? do they practice? i guess you can teach the other person, if they're willing to learn. it can be a little awkward when you tell the other person, "uh, you suck, and this is how you should do it." hehe. but then again, i did teach one girl how to french kiss; when we first made out, it felt really empty to kiss with a wide open mouth and not feel a tongue there, so i just taught her how to use her tongue. voila!
but sometimes, you can't help it if your lips are fat and not flexible (or, on the other end of the spectrum, thin lips that have no mass), or if your tongue has a bad shape. i like semi-pointy tongues, for example. you can't do anything about those things, so i guess it's just too bad if that's the case. *shrug*
i still don't have plans for thanksgiving yet. i usually have gone to alan's or emi's (in san luis obispo), but this year, i don't think i'll be going to either place. hm. there was one year where i was in college, and i wasn't invited anywhere (i never went back to dallas for thanksgiving), so i wound up biking to jack in the box for food on thanksgiving day. yes, that was pretty sad. but at least i didn't starve. thanks goodness for jack in the box.
so my car is ready. i called up the body shop, and they said they're done. what miffed me was the fact that *i* had to call them. i mean, were they waiting for me to check up on them? what if i hadn't? were they just going to keep the car there and not tell me? hrmph. but anyways, i'm going to pick kendra up tomorrow morning. ah, reunited again. so excited!
i wonder if i should jump on the celtics bandwagon now. i grew up for 4 years in cambridge, and i cheered for the team back during the bird/mchale/parish days. but then, they sucked for so long, and now, they're the only undefeated team in the NBA at 6-0. crazy! plus, i love kevin garnett. (i use to wear his basketball shoes.)
ok, i'm out.
