woah. so my friend P sent me three links in an e-mail titled "thinking of you." i was like, "hm." the first one was a video that i couldn't view, but the soundtrack was clearly a guy moaning with pleasure. so i was like, "ok, that's cool," even though i couldn't see what was going on. the second one was a picture of a girl taking a soft smoothie-like dump into a cup, and then two girls licking the shit in the cup. EW. after five seconds, i had to close the window due to extreme disgust. then, the third's link was something about "hatchet vs. genitals" so i didn't even open it.
DUDE. gross sexual acts are NOT my thing. sure, i talk about taking dumps and stuff, but scatology ain't my cup of tea. neither is mutilation of genitals. and now, i'm thinking that first scene that i couldn't view was no ordinary sex, either. i'm also wondering why P thought of me when he came across these videos, hehe. I AM NOT A SEXUAL DEVIANT! :)
so i've recovered from my cold, but i still don't feel as peppy and bouncy as i normally am. so i'm not 100% yet, i guess. i couldn't get out of bed this morning; it just felt too good to lie there and snuggle in my warm blankets. sigh. at least thanksgiving's right around the corner. i still don't know what i'm doing for that holiday yet. i wonder if paul and aimee are hosting the turducken thing. i'm so curious to try that out. i love duck!
i'm totally hooked on facebook. i can now see how some people have like 100+ or even 200+ friends. i mean, i don't have that many friends (i have like 65 or so), but there are so many people on facebook that you can easily track down old random acquaintances and classmates. but i gotta wonder, for those people who have so many "friends," how many people are true friends? how many people are ones that you hang out with regularly, ones that you'd actually call up and maybe have a meal with or go out with? or, in my new measure of friend-dom, ones that you'd invite to your wedding?
i should get my car back any day now. i'm going to call them tomorrow and see if the painting (the last step) is done. it's about time! although, now i'm totally used to the chevy cobalt that i've been driving for the past three weeks. before, i thought it was a piece of crap, but now, i think it's an ok car, as far as compacts go. i haven't driven it hard, but once, i did rev it up to 6000rpm. i was afraid that the engine would start smoking, haha.
the sides of my nostrils are peeling from all the nose blowing that i've been doing. it's gross. it looks like flakes of boogers or something. i took a peek in the mirror today on the drive to lunch (i wasn't driving), and i was shocked to see so many little flakes on my nose. being sick sucks, man. btw, we went to corner place today for the first time in many months. ah, yuk ge jang, with ramen (and no onions)! that shit is good.
congratulations to my buddy (best friend from high school) kevin on getting engaged! i'm really happy for him. he e-mailed me last night to tell me the news, complete with a photo gallery documenting the process. i'm curious, though; he's jewish, and i think his fiance is muslim. how are they going to raise their kids, from a religious standpoint? i bet they're going to be pretty, though.
i'm proud of the fact that i got back into basketball this year. it's hard to believe that all of 2006, i only played once. and that was the only exercise i got last year. horrible, i know. i have a renewed interest in playing, and that's a good thing. it started out as one of my new year's resolutions for 2007, and i'm very happy that i stuck with it. at first, it was a chore, but now, i truly enjoy playing; in fact, i actually look forward to tuesday and thursdays because of it. yay!
i got a call while i was driving from a stanford student asking me to donate money. hrmph. that must have been the 3rd or 4th time this year (at least) i was solicited by the university looking for a donation. i don't mind giving, though, but still, they are really milking me! the last couple of times, i've donated $250, but this time, they asked for a whopping $500. i was like, "no way!" and i dropped them back down to the usual $250. it's a good thing that i've memorized my credit card number, because i was driving and couldn't stop to pull the card out. but anyways, they claimed that this donation was for fiscal year 2008, but i will bet you anything that they'll call again next year. it's funny, though. i'm lazy, and i won't give money through the mail, but on the phone, because i don't have to lick a stamp or write a check, i'm much more willing to donate.
here's a question for you fashion mavens out there. are corduroys an acceptable form of pants to wear for a semi-fancy dinner? i say no. but one of my friends was saying they're ok, so that's what he wore to a mid-level french restaurant (le charm, if you know the place) on a date over this weekend. i've always thought cords were kind of casual. hm.
ok. that's it for me today. i think this one was sort of long.
man, it sucks being sick. friday night, four of us went to dusita for some thai food, and i was just sniffling and sneezing all over the place. afterwards, i went home, and i had the worst time sleeping. i woke up every hour to blow my nose. i sleep on my side, and my nose keep on getting stuffed. it was horrible.
i woke up at noon, and i went to jamba juice to get a coldbuster smoothie. then, i had lunch with william at joy luck place. i got the usual wonton noodle soup, and for some odd reason, their wontons were dry in the middle. then, i went home and watched illinois beat the #1 ranked ohio state. awesome! that means oregon will move up to #2 in the BCS rankings. i took a nap afterwards and just putzed around the house.
for dinner, i met up with jay at la bamba for some mexican food, but he couldn't stay long because his medical (rhinoplasty) conference starts at 6am (crazy hours, i know). then, i got another coldbuster smoothie and called it a night, hoping that the immunity and antioxidant boosts would kick in.
luckily, sunday, i felt WAY better, and i just watched a ton of sports. four sporting events, in fact. first, i watched the eagles beat the redskins, which was what i wanted so the redskins could fall behind in the NFC east standings. then, i was all set to watch the cowboys/giants game, but instead, fox showed the bears/raiders game! GRR. luckily, diana texted me, and i met up with her and some of her friends at the old pro in downtown palo alto to catch the 4th quarter of the cowboys game. we won! i was very happy, and i even had a whiskey while i was watching.
then, i got home to catch the final 6 minutes of the stanford men's game. ah, my first stanford men's basketball game of the season. we beat our opposition soundly, so i was happy.
then, i headed over to adam's place and kept him company to watch the chargers/colts game. man, that was a crazy contest. peyton manning threw SIX interceptions (a franchise and personal worst), and adam vinatieri missed a chip-shot 29-yard field goal to win the game! i was nuts when that happened. i couldn't believe it. adam had this look of shock on his face. the colts did everything they could to lose the game, and the chargers did everything they could do let the colts win, and yet, the chargers won. crazy.
adam is the ultimate chargers fan. he even knows the names of the special teams players! now *that's* a fan. i genuflect to him. :)
and to put a cherry on top, the stanford women won, beating #3 rutgers by two points with two candice wiggins free throws with 0.1 seconds left. ah, my sports teams all did well.
so yeah, i didn't do that much socially this weekend, but sports made up for it on sunday. but at least i'm over my sickness, and i can get on with my life.
