rude customer

so for lunch, D, J and i tried out this shanghai place on old san francisco and wolfe. their specialty is this grilled bun called "tzun jien bao." it was pretty tasty and juicy. we were enjoying our food when this woman at another table started YELLING at a waiter. apparently, according to D (who heard more of the conversation), the woman was not pleased with her food, and then she just snapped and went off. it was very embarrassing for everyone, and the other people at her table looked very sheepish as well. man, what nerve of her. i mean, i have had shitty food before, but i would never complain about it to the wait staff, you know? i'd just never go back again, that's all. on a similar note, have you guys ever sent back your food before?

ok, never mind. i mean, just a few weeks ago, at fiesta del mar too, i complained very loudly about the bad service. *embarrassed look* but i didn't say it directly to the waiters!

i miss my car, kendra, so much. i mean, this cobalt is sort of advanced in a couple of ways. it beeps when it accidentally drive it with the parking brake on. it has automatic headlights. it tells me what the pressure is in each tire. but still, i've had kendra for almost 8 years, and she's my baby. the body shop called me, and they're in painting stages, so it should be a couple of days (hopefully friday) before i get her back. i can't wait! one feature that i sorely miss is the audio controls on the steering wheel. it's distracting when i have to take my eyes off the road to change radio stations, and therefore, it's a little dangerous, too. steering wheel controls are very handy and much safer.

i had dinner with alan and ting last night at pho queen (lawrence and tasman). i don't think i'll be going back there again. they give very little meat in their pho. i think next time, i'll take them to kim long and introduce them to the double pork chop rice plate; i think they'll be impressed. and of course, i'll get the #24. yum!

i was watching a bit of _a shot at love_ last night. it's a dating show where the main catch is this girl named tila tequila, and the twist is that she's bisexual, so the suitors include both men and women. does anybody actually think that she's attractive? i don't think so, although i'll admit that she looks slightly better than she smiles. what nationality is she? she looks a little asian, so i'm wondering why there aren't any asian men or females as potential mates. anyways, she kicked off this really creepy guy (ashley) in the previous episode (i didn't watch the current one), and he just went bananas. it was pretty funny to watch. he claimed that he was crazy in love with her, and he just came on a bit strong, i think. a little too intense.

if i were the main character on a dating show, it wouldn't last very long. i make pretty quick decisions on whether i like a girl or not, usually within a couple of seconds. of course, this is based on solely physical reasons. i can tell if i'm attracted to a girl or not at first glance, and then i dig deeper into the personality. so if i were faced with like 20 girls, i bet at least 75% of them would be gone within the first meeting. and i'm being generous here with that number. like, when i used to troll friendster, i would have something like a 1% pass rating. yeah, i'm picky, i know that.

i am craving dim sum like mad. what particular dish am i hungering for? the sticky rice wrapped in leaves. that shit is good. although, i have to remind myself that i can only eat one, because two is too heavy. it's dense stuff! and of course, there is the usual turnip cake and leek dumpling that i always love. i think i'll try to organize a dim sum outing this sunday.

i'm still drinking one can of V8 a day. but i'm still not used to the nastiness of the taste. i can't imagine the fact that there exist some people who like this stuff. do bloody mary's taste like this? *shivers* but still, sometimes (actually, most times), this is the only vegetable intake i get, so that's why i suffer through it. it says that one can is two servings of vegetables, so that's cool with me. but still, ick.

so stanford men's basketball season has started! yuji has offered to sell me his tickets for some of the games this upcoming weekend, and i'm mulling over it. i can't decide which i love more: my stanford men or my dallas cowboys. i love both of them passionately. so that's saying a lot! this season is going to be tough; six pac-10 teams are ranked in the preseason top-25, so there's a lot of good competition out there out west. and we don't have brook lopez, that academic delinquent. i'm very disappointed in him for not keeping his grades up and skipping classes. *RAAR*

ok, time to wrap this up. i'm looking forward to southpark tonight. yay!
