so for the first time in several months, i woke up past 10am today. maybe my early morning start times are wearing off. maybe. anyways, i slept like 11 hours for the first time in ages, and when i got out of bed, i was all groggy and stuff. by the way, i've been feeling all pukey and nauseated in the mornings lately. i usually dry heave and throw up some water (that i take with my meds) within minutes of getting up, so that's been a bit annoying.
tonight is guy's night out! jack, jeremy, alan and i (and now peter) have been getting together once every few months and grabbing dinner. the unfortunate thing, though, is that one of us always has to bail for some reason or another, and tonight is no exception. (alan has some meeting planning to do for his business trip to dallas tomorrow, boo.) we're going to hooters tonight! yay for boobies! i hope i see a lot of t-shirt ripples, and maybe even some ass dimples! :) oh, and of course, the patriots/bengals MNF game.
so at tea era, K asked me if i "knew what i was looking for." you know, as far as women are concerned. i was a bit taken aback by that question, because i didn't know how to answer. i mean, i don't have a checklist or anything. i guess when i meet the right girl, i'll just know. but is that too naive or idealistic an answer? does it really happen that way? i doubt i'll meet some girl, and then suddenly angels will sing and she'll be enveloped in some glowing halo. so i really don't know. but chemistry is definitely key, though. of all the girls i've gone out with in the past, i've liked them from the very beginning, i.e. there was a "spark" at the onset.
my feet are sweaty today. i'm wearing my silver plastic steve madden rascals today, for a change. they're cool shoes, but because they're plastic, they don't breathe at all. ick. yeah, but i just had to buy them, given my silver fetish and all.
i left a skidmark in my toilet today. since i woke up late, i didn't take my morning smoke outside my house (you know, the smoke that induces my morning dump). so i had to force my morning dump, so i strained really hard, and my shit shot out of my ass really fast, so fast that it must have hit the bottom of the bowl at a supersonic velocity. hence the skidmarks. i guess i'll have to find my toilet brush and scrape them off when i go home tonight.
have you ever liked two girls at once? i did so, back in 2001. one of them was k3, and the other jo-ann. i honestly loved them both at the time, and if you asked me which one i liked more, i wouldn't have been able to answer that question. ah, if only we could have harems in the US, because i'd snatch them both up in a heartbeat. but what if you liked one more than the other, and you couldn't have the "better" one? would you feel like you were settling?
i think the danger of knowing too many women is that you'll start comparing them. maybe this one has a better personality. and that one has a better body, or whatever. eyebrows, ambition, legs, sense of humor, etc. they're all factors in this one big equation that sums up a woman. i dunno. maybe i'm just waiting to get swept off my feet by some goddess that will never materialize. *shrug*
it's utterly impossible to find one women that satisfies all of one's needs. and that's why a person needs friends and family (and hobbies, etc.) to fill in the gaps. unfortunately, with k1, i didn't know this, so i found another girl to do that job. that was during my "two women = 100%" theory phase. k1 was like 95%, and this other girl, h, was that extra 5%. horrible, just horrible. but anyways, that's something that i might get into in a future post.
yes, i am still drinking V8 at work. one a can a day. and yes, it's still gross shit.
ok, time for a smoke. hooters, here i come!
friday night, i called up some of the guys, and we went to st. john's for dinner. their special was 1/2 off appetizers, so john and i got two steak quesadillas, some chicken crispers, and an order of chicken crispers. and of course, i got my standard bushmills on the rocks, although the price went up from $6.50 to $8.00; not sure whether that was because it was friday night. boo!
after that, we went over to mikeC's place and watched the _family guy_ star wars episode. mike told us that there was an armed robber on the loose in the neighborhood, so i got a bit scared when i left. apparently, they never caught him (when i checked the news the next day). scary shit, man.
saturday, i had lunch with jack, amy and their two kids at chili's. i got the chicken fried steak (major yum factor), and afterwards, we went to valley fair, where i went on a major quest to find a birthday gift for john. unfortunately, because of circumstances which i will not get into, i couldn't find it, so i had to order a suboptimal gift off of the internet when i got home. man, kids are a lot of work. near the end of it, both of them got a bit fussy, and i felt for the parents. i only hope that when i become a father, i have the strength and patience and lovingness that jack has.
after i got home, i watched the second half of the cal/oregon game. it was a good game, and i was rooting for cal. (yes, you read that right: i was rooting for cal.) they won by a touchdown, and i was pleased. they're ranked #3 now! it helped that the #3, #4, and #5 teams all lost over the weekend. i took a little nap, and then headed over to nelson's place to meet up with him, geoff and pak.
we had dinner at yiassoo (greek food, my suggestion). despite my large lunch, i was really hungry, so even before i went to nelson's, i made a slight detour to nelson's place and grabbed 5 chicken nuggets at wendy's as a snack. yiassoo has great gyro's and french fries, although their ketchup this time tasted like sweet tomato paste. then, we went back to nelson's house and watched _top woman shooter_, this short documentary that his brother made.
after that, i drove to shinbala (sp?) to have shaved ice with some more bowling gang people. i hadn't had shaved ice in ages, so it was very refreshing. they wouldn't let pay, though. and then i went home, satisfied.
sunday, we had a monster dim sum session ($18.50 a person!). john went nuts with the shao long bao, ordering six of them (4 per order) and eating 12 bao's and feeling sick afterwards. the only downer was that grace, my dim sum partner in crime, wasn't there. afterwards, we went to cheryl's place to help move her heavy 35" tube tv to greg's place. i helped a little, but being of a scrawny, weak-limbed sort, i didn't contribute that much to the moving. after that was done, i watched part of the seahawks' demolition of the 49ers. i did whoop, however, when i saw that the cowboys destroyed the rams 35-7. :)
around 4pm, K came over to my place, and we went to the stanford foothills and tried to hike the dish. i say "tried" because they must have changed the path or something, because the dish seemed really far or something. we got halfway there, and the dish was still way out in the distance, so we decided to turn around and go back. i hadn't been to the foothills in years, and they repaved the whole place. and it seemed like the trails were different, too.
anyways, after that, we went to tea era, grabbed some pearl teas, and chatted for a bit before she had to leave at 6:30. then, i called up alan and ting, and we went to dinner at boston market. ahh, meat loaf, stuffing (that wasn't good because it was slightly sweet), and mac 'n cheese. on the drive back, i called up leeya and organized a pearl tea (yet again) outing at tap-ex at 9pm. in the middle of it, i talked to dave and carolyn (who had just gotten back from a one-month stint in germany) for half an hour. i went back, and we looked at pictures from hawaii, hung out a bit more, and i went home, happy that i had a productive weekend.
yup. good times.
