guava burps

hey peeps. this week is going by really slowly. every wednesday, though, i really look forward to the breakfast that my company gets. today's random discovery is that garlic bagels (with cream cheese) and fruit punch/berry x-factor gatorade produces burps that taste like guava. pretty odd, huh? but yeah, i love my wednesday breakfasts, but the bagels MUST be toasted.

i miss cheng, the young coworker who left last friday. i really felt it today when D and i went off to lunch, and it was just the two of us. the 4th guy, J, is on vacation to vancouver (i think it's for a wedding), so lunch felt really empty. i think i get attached to people really easily or something.

i had a long 2-hour meeting this afternoon. it's interesting, though, because i didn't crave a cigarette the entire time. when i know i can't smoke, i don't get cravings. situations include being in a meeting, on a plane, in a movie, etc. but if i'm in a situation where i know i could be smoking, then i start really wanting a cigarette, like if i'm driving or eating or walking and stuff.

work is going to start getting more hectic. we taped out a chip two weeks ago, so we've been taking it easy as a group. but now, a new project is getting underway, and there's quite a bit of stuff to do, even though it's technically only a next revision of an old chip. i'm actually looking forward to getting down and dirty with work again.

i slept a lot last night. i took my meds before meeting up with alan and ting for dinner last night, so by the time we finished eating (around 8pm), i was already drowsy. so i got home, putzed around a bit, and went to sleep pretty early. i woke up around 9:15am or so, so that meant i got around 11+ hours of sleep! it's been awhile since i've slept that much.

i am amazed at how many friends some people have. like, i check out their friendster or facebook profiles, and they have like 100+ friends! i mean, are they just acquaintances, or are they real friends? egads! what happens when they get married? are they going to invite them all? holy shit, man. i guess some people are just really social or something. me, i'm a big wallflower when it comes to social gatherings; i've gotten a little better, but i'm still pretty bad, especially when i go to events by myself. i'm a clingy friend.

how long to tetanus shots last? remember that i got slashed by a steel cable yesterday during basketball. i don't want lockjaw! i think my last tetanus shot was like in 2000 or so. how long does it take lockjaw to happen? i'm scared!

did you guys know that last night was the moon festival (tzong chou jie)? at night, i noticed the moon was completely full, and before, at the office, i ate a piece of moon cake that my coworker had. i can't stand the moon cake that has eggs in it (eww), and the interesting thing was that this slice of cake had some watermelon seeds in it.

so some of the hawaii people are making their way back today/tomorrow. paul, leeya and nelson are on a red-eye tonight and arriving at 5am tomorrow morning. crazy. i once did a red-eye to boston from SFO, and boy, did it hurt. in an unmedicated state (this was before i discovered seroquel and xanax), i can't sleep on planes, so by the time i got there, i was totally messed up and drowsy, so after i landed and got to jeremy's house, i slept until 1pm. i felt bad, because they were waiting for me to wake up to go out and do stuff. i hate travelling east.

i am tempted to call up jennie and see if she wants to see _superbad_ tonight. we both expressed interest in this movie when we had dinner last week, and i am itching to go out and do something. although, ting said that she really liked _gossip girl_, and it's on tv tonight on the CW. i checked it out on the web, but i wasn't really drawn to it.

ok, off i go. man. like i said, slow week. at least it's hump day.
