so yeah, at the wedding i was totally drunk from my 5 drinks (3 of them being long island's). so from what i can remember, grace took me out on a brief walk outside the hotel to sober me up, although i didn't think that i looked that obviously plastered. halfway through, she held my hand. of course, we're platonic friends, but i remembered thinking, "this is nice." it's been a while since i've held hands with a girl, so this felt completely new and very comforting. :)
when geoff, pak and i arrived at the condo thursday afternoon, the guys who were already there were watching a DVD, _DOA_. you know, the movie based on the _dead or alive_ fighting video game. one of the girls in the movie, holly valance, was totally HOTT! she's a blonde, which i usually don't like, but man, she had a really nice face, and a kicking body to boot. go look her up on IMDB. i'd totally do her. it especially helped that she had short hair in the movie, and in one of the scenes, she was topless while fighting off the bad guys.
there's this one girl at the company who always wears purple. i mean, every single fucking day, she's wearing a purple top and purple shoes. hence, i call her "purple girl." i get annoyed, though; it's like, "wear another fucking color, would ya?" hrmph. yeah, i'm being catty, but really, i'd like to see her closet and see how many purple items she has in there.
so the television season for me starts tonight! yup, _how i met your mother_ kicks off its new season today at 8. what's different is that i won't be naked upstairs (post-shower) in my bedroom watching it on my small tv. since i have an HDTV now, i'm going to alter my schedule and watch it downstairs and take my nightly shower after the show. i bet cobie smulders looks even better in hi-def, hehe.
my cowboys are 3-0! i got back home just in time to watch some of the interviews after the game, and when i saw the score, i let out a whoop. we beat the vaunted bears defense! apparently, the score was only 3-3 at the half, so we couldn't get going the first two periods, but man, we really let them have it the second half of the game. tony romo did good. *huzzah*
so i didn't take a dump in hawaii for 48 hours. my last dump before leaving was at 6am on thursday, and i didn't take a shit until around 3pm on saturday. i was really worried about it, too, that i would have diarrhea while driving to the volcano or something. and what's weird is the dump that i did have was solid; yup, i excreted three little logs. strange, huh? and once i got back to the mainland, this morning i had diarrhea once again. i wonder what it was about hawaii that gave me solid turds. *ponder*
food in hawaii is expensive. i think i spent around $140 for the 2-3 days that i was there. of course, i guess i'm not surprised, since hawaii is a very touristy place. and the only other purchase i made was that hawaiian shirt at hilo haddie. my credit card stopped working at that store, though, even though it worked a few minutes before at the starbuck's. i made a call to BofA, and my account checked out fine, so i wonder what happened. anyways, i ordered a replacement card, so it should be on its way.
i don't know when i'll ever wear flip-flops again. i wore them all throughout saturday, and it just wasn't comfortable. i didn't like the feeling of something between my toes. and plus, like i said, i'm used to wearing socks. so those and my hawaiian shirt will be reserved for "hawaiian" occasions, just in case someone throws a luau-themed bbq or something.
man, my asshole itches.
ok, that's it for me today. with the bowling gang still in hawaii, i wonder who i can eat dinner with tonight.
thursday morning, i woke up at 5:50am when it was still dark. ouch! alan picked me up at 6:30, and he dropped me off at SFO. my pack of cigarettes set off the metal detector twice (i didn't think that the foil was made of metal), so i had to be patted down. i waited for geoff and pak, and we had breakfast. i had whiskey at 8am! haha. never did that before.
our flight was delayed by over THREE hours (crew rest and mechanical failure). i took some xanax, so i was knocked out for a bit on the plane. they showed _ocean's thirteen_, and i was interested in seeing that, but i was just too sleepy to watch it.
we missed our connecting flight from honolulu to kona, so we took the next flight. geoff got an awesome 75% discount on a minivan because the lady at the counter asked if he was in the military, so that was great because we got good use out of a bigger car.
we stayed in a swank 3-bedroom brand new condo with 7 people total, and everybody got beds. for dinner, we met up with the bride and groom-to-be (plus greg and cheryl) at cafe pesto. i got this pizza, but i didn't like it. and yes, i had whiskey, at $9 a pop. (later, i found out it was a 12-year glenlivet.)
friday, 5 of us went to volcanoes national park. on the way, we stopped at hilo haddie to get some hawaiian shirts. i bought a subdued one for $30. and then, we stopped by two beaches. one was black rock, and the other one was black sand. neither were that impressive. the volcano was 100+ miles away, so it took us quite some time to get there. luckily, i brought my iPod, so basically, during the whole time were there, i was the DJ.
the weather at the park was cold, windy, and rainy. boo. i didn't bring a jacket, so i was pretty miserable. there were times when i couldn't see because my glasses were all wet. haha. we stopped by some crater vista points, walked through a lava tube, etc. there was one hike, but i didn't go because i was wet and soggy, so i just stayed in the van and called up alan and john and smoked.
after driving back, we met up with john and grace and ate at the kona brewing company (pizza again). luckily, the pizza was better this time. they didn't have whiskey, though, so i just got a coke while everyone else ordered beer.
the next day, we went to another beach. to get there, we had to navigate the van over a mile on this horrible rocky road. i was petrified that the van would break an axle or pop a tire. luckily, neither happened. everyone went swimming in the ocean, but since i wore jeans (i didn't even bring swim trunks), i just sat on a bench and called some friends up. there was this hot girl in a string bikini that kept sliding down and a bottom that showed some ass crack. :)
then, it was off to the wedding! the ceremony was good, but the problem was that the sound system had all this static, so it was hard to hear the officiant. there was an open bar during the reception, so i had a whiskey, a shot of horribel tequila (jose cuervo especial), and THREE long islands. needless to say, i was pretty drunk. during dinner, grace took my arm and led me on a walk to sober me up. i apparently walked into a door, but i don't even remember it. after we came back, i promptly went off to the bathroom to puke, and i felt much better after that.
i enjoyed the speeches (paul lost his speech, so was up all night rewriting it), and there were all these cool details like the bride's shoes, the secondary wedding donut cake, the table markers, etc., so overall, it was great wedding. congratulations to christi and mike!
the entire sunday was spent travelling, which really sucked. geoff, pak and i left at 7am, and we arrived at SFO at 8pm. ick. alan picked me up, and when i got home, i just unpacked and went to bed. i hate travelling eastward. but anyways, it was a good trip, and now i'm at work again. *pukes*
