hey peeps. i'm bored. i e-filed my taxes today, so i'm one step closer to finishing; i need to log back in within 24-48 hours and finalize my stuff. if everything goes right, they'll withdraw over $10K from my bank account next monday. sigh. that's a sizable dent in my savings. but yes, that does mean that i made a decent amount of money last year, mostly due to my monster ESPP sale in 2006.
C and i had lunch with william today at in 'n out. even though william went to UCLA, he doesn't seem to be that into UCLA men's basketball. i mean, they're in the final four! if stanford were that deep into the tournament, i'd forsake all my social obligations that make sure that i'd be in front of the television watching the games intently. i guess it's just all about priorities and school spirit.
sigh. final four. when stanford was in it back in 1997 or so, i remember hosting a party at brenton. we lost to eventual champion kentucky in overtime. so sad. but i was very proud of our team, with arthur lee, kris weems, etc. you just gotta savor those moments, because they don't come that often.
last night, paul, leeya and i went to eat at thai orchid on trimble and first street. i used to eat at that complex back when i worked at vivace networks. the food wasn't half bad, albeit just a tad pricey and overly greasy. leeya was craving this thai spaghetti dish, but i thought the noodles were too undercooked (paul called it al dente). paul and i shared the pad see ew (good, but like i said, greasy) and the red duck curry. the portions were generous, and it came out to like $13 a head.
i've had a sore throat in the mornings for well over a week now. i wonder what's going on. it hurts when i swallow. it usually goes away in the afternoon and nights, so people have been telling me it may be just allergies. but the thing is, i don't have my windows open when i sleep or anything, so what am i getting allergic to? *ponder*
i've come to realize that a good face with an average body beats out an average face with a hot body any day of the week. i guess it's sort of obvious (to me, at least), but a good face goes a long way. and of course, a good face on a hot body (like hr girl) is just rare and smashing. speaking of hr girl, i need to meet up with her soon. i haven't seen her in like over a year and a half. i miss her. and somebody else who i haven't seen in over a year is mallory; we're supposed to meet up this sunday for dim sum, and i'm excited to catch up with her.
man, this is going to be a long week. it's only tuesday.
