feeling lethargic

hey folks. just a quick heads up before i go home early today. i've been feeling a little sluggish these past two days, and my throat's feeling a bit funny. gonna go home and rest after i write this up. an added bonus, though, is that i get to watch some basketball games.

i'm still bummed out about stanford getting thrashed yesterday, but i did get to see the final three minutes of the duke/vcu game last night. duke lost by two points, and it's always fun to see them lose. i hate duke, so seeing them lose is always a good thing, hehe.

today's free lunch had an irish theme to it, seeing how st. patrick's day is tomorrow. there was corned beef and cabbage, and potatoes everywhere. it brought back memories of when my dad used to get corned beef cold cuts at the local supermarket. that, and pastrami and swiss cheese. i did enjoy the beef stew today, though, so the free lunch wasn't as abysmal as it has been in the past.

so after i rest up this afternoon, i hope i'm in good enough shape to head out to bay meadows with some of the bowling gang tonight. horse racing! i've never been out there before, but it's $1 hot dogs and drinks day, so that'll be a cheap night. i don't understand the terminology of horse race betting, like "place" and "show" or whatever those terms and numbers are. i thought you just bet on a horse and hope it wins. anyways, we'll see how it turns out.

i had a stressful dream this morning, in which i had to write a term paper about irish coinage. what's neat is that it was the exact same topic that i had to write about my freshman year in college. who knew that i could write a 7-page paper about coins in ireland in the 1800's or so? but in the dream, i went to the library, and someone had checked out all the books on the topic, so i was royally fucked. luckily, i woke up in the middle of the dream and was able to get out of it, so the stress didn't last too long.

ok, that's all i got for today. gonna hydrate up, have a smoke, and go home. have a GREAT weekend folks!
