so there was no one around for lunch today, so i ventured on over to jack in the box and tried their new sirloin steak and mushroom ciabatta. it was pretty tasty, but it was too messy. the problem with the loose filling in the middle, coupled with the tough ciabatta bread, was that the stuff kept falling out as the bread got compacted with every bite. i wound up with a ton of stuff on the paper wrapping (which was a smart idea), which i had to lap up after i finished the main sandwich part. but overall, it was an enjoyable meal. fyi, it's not cheap, though, coming in at $5.08 just for the sandwich.
so i bit the bullet today and paid for a discount continuation of my membership on eharmony. it was mainly to talk to this one match that i got back in january. while i was on the site, i looked at some pictures of this other match. wowzers! this one was NOT attractive. i mean, i'm no adonis, but this girl almost made me recoil in horror. but anyways, i decided to fasttrack the other match because eharmony's "guided communication" process is pretty lame. we'll see how this one goes. fyi, the girl did not post up any pictures of herself, and i'm taking that as a bad sign.
sunday morning's gonna hurt. not only do i lose an hour of sleep (thanks ann!), but i'm meeting my dad at the airport at 10am. he's flying through SFO on the way back to taiwan, so i'm meeting him at the airport for like an hour during his layover. i'm looking forward to seeing him, and possibly having another one of those father/son cigarette bonding sessions. :)
my toenails are getting long. i'm going to cut them tonight, if i remember. my big toes' nails are clicking the front edge of my shoes when i walk, and that's never happened to me before. my guess is that it's been like two months since i last clipped them.
so i got some frosted mini-wheats yesterday (the large chunk variety). i tried some for dinner last night, and they weren't as good as i remembered. i think there wasn't enough frosting on them. but anyways, it was still a nice break from the vanilla/almond special k that i've been having for the past month. i think i'm going to start rotating cereal every night, so i don't get sick of any one kind. yes, it's sort of an obvious solution to the problem, but as you readers may well know, obvious things sometimes escape me. hehe.
did you guys know that i used to be lactose intolerant? there was one summer, between my freshman and sophomore years in college, where i didn't have milk those entire three months. when i went back to school, i tried to drink milk again, and it totally gave me the runs. but i stuck with it, and after a few weeks of having painful diarrhea, i became lactose tolerant again. yup, i built it back up. i remember this one time, i got my meal, and i suddenly felt the urge to take a liquidy dump. so i went to the bathroom, sat on the toilet with my tray in my lap, and at my meal while on the crapper. that's a memory i'll never forget.
so tonight's another shaving night. yup, i only shave once a week, every wednesday night. i'm not looking forward to it. every time i shave the area between my lower lip and my chin, it bleeds and stings. ouch! paul recommends i switch from my remington shaver to a braun, but i'm too cheap to buy a new shaver. but yeah, it hurts. and i don't like getting those spots of blood. i don't know why that specific patch of hair gives me problems, though; the rest of my hairy areas are fine.
another hour of american idol tonight. the guys sucked it up last night, let's hope that the girls do better. except, of course, antonella. she always sucks.
