ten thousand dollars

so in my free time at work, i did my taxes today. i haven't filed yet, i'm still waiting on a confirmation on how to do my stock options sale correctly, but overall, it looks like i'm going to owe $10K. damn! of course, that means i made a decent amount of money this year, especially because i had a nice ESPP gain this year. but still, that's going to put a dent into my savings.

so last night was the season finale of _the class_. it was mildly interesting, with a surprise hookup at the end. i've watched this show from the very beginning, and even though i don't think it's very good, there have been some decent moments. and you know me: once i start a show, i'll stubbornly follow it until it dies.

so the stanford women won the pac-10 tournament last night. i was pretty nervous; they were playing a very good arizona state squad, and stanford squandered a 19-point lead when ASU cut it to 3 in the final minute. word has it that stanford might play its first two tourney games at maples, and while that would be pretty sweet, i wonder how fair that is, having two "home" games in the NCAA tournament. but regardless, go cardinal!

poor paul. he's sick as a dog. i called him up the other day, and he just sounded awful over the phone. he says that he caught the bug from his CEO, who stupidly went to work. i am a strong believer of the quarantine, i.e. you do NOT go to work when you're sick. that is just wrong. i mean, you get everyone else sick when you do that, and that just wrecks the company's productivity, not to mention ruin some people's days for a while. just go home, get some rest, and come back when you're better, that's what i say.

so they're painting my complex's back patio doors this weekend. what's bad about it is that they take 5-6 hours to dry. so what the hell am i supposed to do? stay home that whole time? or go out and risk someone breaking into my place and stealing my stuff? hm. when they painted my front door, it only took a few hours to dry because the door was in the direct sunlight. but this time, the back door is in the shade underneath all these trees, so no such luck. so i might be confined to the house this saturday. sigh. maybe i'll just sit at home and watch the men's pac-10 tournament or something.

one thing i've noticed with this diarrhea is that my peeing muscles and my shitting muscles are no longer decoupled. what i mean is that i can't control them separately. in the mornings, i try to just pee, but instead, both of the holes open together. it's sort of frustrating. and it would be big trouble if i'm standing at a urinal or something, because then i'd just take a big old diarrhea dump in my pants. eek!

ok, i'm out of steam again. and speaking of peeing, i need to go take a whiz. laters!
