hey people. i had a close call today. remember that block that i designed back in 1998 that they wanted me to change? and i was highly stressed about it because it would be a complicated task? well, it was brought up today again, and after lunch, my boss told me that i would have to go back and do it. well, we had a meeting to discuss it, and in the end, it turns out that i only have to make a minor change. it's still a non-negligible amount of work, but at least it's better than redoing the entire control side of things. so *phew*
tonight's episodes of _how i met your mother_ and _the class_ are reruns. sigh. and the monday night football game is uninteresting to me. it's the panthers vs. the eagles, and the eagles's season is done without donovan mcnabb. so i guess there isn't any good tv to watch. i know there's _heroes_, but it's mid-season, and i'm not getting into any new shows this year.
so today was my buddy's farewell lunch. we went to aroy-dee, and halfway through the meal, i had a major case of diarrhea. it was like someone let loose a firehose from my ass. the liquid just gushed out of my sphincter. i looked back at the toilet after i was done, and it was just this dark water filling up the hole. gross. i was fortunate because before i went to the bathroom, i had this urge to fart. luckily, i didn't, because i would have soiled my pants for sure.
it looks like i'll be spending my new year's with my family down in LA at my uncle's house. no party for me then. i'll most likely be in bed asleep this year by the time the ball drops. but it's ok. i'll be happy to be with my family.
stanford fired its head football coach (walt harris) today. i guess it wasn't a surprise, after going 1-11 this year. i feel bad for the guy, because i don't think it was all his fault. we had a lot of injuries this year, and that was a big part of our problem. oh well. better luck next year. at least our basketball team is looking decent. we'll see how we do when the pac-10 regular season starts.
does anyone use facebook? my friend amy added me as a friend, but i'm feeling lazy and don't want to create a profile. i heard that facebook is more for teenagers and stuff.
i'm craving a cheesesteak. i had one with the guys last monday at st. john's, and it was pretty good. maybe i'll see if they want to go again tonight.
i've been having a hard time remembering things lately. i don't know whether it's the topamax i'm taking or what. but here are some names that i've had a hard time recalling: natalie merchant, taye diggs, joe kirchofer (a old stanford basketball player), seville (the last city in spain i visited). i'm sure there are more, but i've forgotten. :/ i hate it that my brain isn't as sharp as it used to be.
so friday night, paul, mikeC and i had dinner at clarke's burger. their burgers were advertised to have 1/3 pound patties, but they were in fact pretty puny. and they were expensive, too! ($8) i was kind of disappointed.
saturday, we had a late lunch at this vietnamese place near montague and capitol expressway. nelson recommended this noodle and beef dish, and it was pretty tasty. afterwards, we went back to paul's place and watched the 4th quarter of big game. i was surprised that stanford put up some points, and the game was closer than i thought it would be. but too bad, stanford fired its football coach (walt harris) this morning. i guess a 1-11 season will do that to you.
afterwards, i went back to nelson's place to watch last week's episode of _the office_. i got home and chilled out before heading back to paul's place for some takeout from dusita (thai). their food was pretty good. the guys were setting for a LAN party, and they were playing a command and conquer game. the game reminded me of starcraft, this game that i was totally obsessed with back in 2000 or so. i didn't play, but i heard the guys played until about 5-7am or so. man, that's stamina for you.
sunday was pretty lazy. i got out of bed at 12:30am, and i got some jack in the box for some breakfast. then, i watched some football, but i was disappointed that due to some raiders policy, they didn't show the cowboys/giants game. so i followed on the sports ticker, and it was pretty close. in the end, the cowboys won it on a martin gramatica field goal with 0:01 left, and i was happy. we're 8-4! good for us.
for dinner, we tried out this royal teppan steak place in cupertino village. i got the chicken katsu curry, which wasn't very good. i won't be going back there again. after dinner, i just went home and got ready for bed and sportscenter. of course, i was most interested in watching the cowboys highlights. and that was it for my weekend. pretty easy and breezy. i wish i did more on sunday, though.
