monday doldrums

hey folks. sigh. another monday. even though i was sick for two days last week (and nobody likes to be sick), it was nice having a 3-day workweek. even that felt long, though, so that gives you an impression on how little i enjoy working. :/

i have all these long scratches on my left arm. i don't know how i got them. maybe i scratched myself when i was sleeping? even if i did that, my nails aren't sharp or anything. hm. it looks like i've been attacked by a cat.

two more days until jeremy and kate move back! i'm SO excited to see them. unfortunately, they're living up north in san mateo. it isn't *that* long of a drive, but still, i liked it when they lived 2 miles from me in mountain view.

no more diarrhea for me. i had a little bit of it over the weekend, but today's dump was semi-solid. i'm still wishing i had more solid dumps, but what can you do... how do you induce solid dumps? is there such a thing as an anti-fiber pill or a stool hardener?

i am not liking this daylight savings thing. it gets light an hour earlier, which makes it hard to sleep in the morning time, and by the time i leave work, it's almost dark. ick. i definitely enjoyed the extra hour of sleep i got saturday night, but now, that's over with. the rest are negatives.

alan and ting are funny. they keep gaining weight, then going on the south beach diet phase 1 (absolutely no carbs) to lose weight, and then repeat every few months. the bad thing about this is that i don't get to eat out with them when they're on the diet, unless we go to boston market or something (they get the chicken there).

my coworker N and i had lunch at la bamba today. he's leaving the company after 9+ years, and his last day is this friday. i'll be sad to see him go. he was one of the originals! my secret wish is that he doesn't find a good job, and he comes back. ha! wishful thinking, i guess.

tonight is a rare weekday where i'm going out for dinner. usually, i just go home and have a bowl of honey nut cheerios, but john called me up a few minutes ago and invited me to a gathering at andy's bbq. i'm not a fan of non-texas bbq, but i definitely would like some company on a weeknight. i'll have to go home first and set the vcr to tape _how i met your mother_ and _the class_, even though both are repeats.

ok, time to jet. see you guys!

lazy saturday, football sunday

friday night, nelson and i hit the sonoma chicken coop, where we both got the garlic chicken alfredo and some beer. then, we head back to his place and watched some snippets of borat, in anticipation of his upcoming movie. we also watched the halloween episode of season 2 of _the office_.

saturday, i picked up nelson and john, and we had lunch at the original pancake house in cupertino. then, we went to john's place and watched some tv, including _the matrix reloaded_. i still don't understand the gibberish that the architect is talking about.

we met up with mikeC, paul and leeya at st. john's and enjoyed their half off burgers. i got the "beg for mercy" burger, which included some chopped up jalepeno's. it was a bit spicy, and i liked it. we went to paul's place afterwards, watched some tv, and played mexican train domino's.

we were watching cinemax, and after _the 40 year old virgin_, they showed a soft porn movie. the only scene that we got to watch was this guy giving head to a girl with huge fake breasts. then, leeya changed the channel.

sunday, i didn't do much. i enjoyed the extra hour of sleep, and i watched parts of three football games. i also took a nap during the raiders/steelers game.

i was excited to see my cowboys play on sunday night football, but after they were down 14-0 to the panthers, i was convinced they were going to lose. so i left the house and met up with alan and ting at pho nam for some dinner. when i got back, i saw that the score was 35-14 dallas, and i sort of regretted losing the faith. that game would have been fun to watch. oh well. at least dallas won, and i am certainly happy about that.

and that was the end of my weekend. with the cowboys victory, it ended on a good note. :)
