malaise

hey guys. as you may have noticed, i was out of the office monday and yesterday. i caught a nasty cold. i'm feeling much better now, but for a while, i was a booger-generating machine. :( i'm still a bit sniffly now, but at least i'm not dizzy and weak.

so tomorrow, my company is giving out free flu shots. what's your take on these? do these actually work? a friend of mine used to get them, and he used to get sick afterwards. i've already been out two days this week, and i'm not about to get sick again.

so re: _the departed_. i haven't seen _infernal affairs_, so i don't know what to compare it to. but i just thought the american version was very slow and pretty boring. not to mention that i really don't like leonardo dicaprio.

and don't get me started on the cowboys' terrible loss to the giants. i watched most of the game (turned it off in disgust after romo's interception for a touchdown), and it was just depressing. bledsoe is just a sitting duck out there behind a shitty offensive line. sigh. and we go on a three-game roadtrip after this, and then come home to face the unbeaten colts. doesn't look good for the cowboys' chance to make it to the playoffs.

i was at home yesterday all day, and i watched espn from noon to about 4pm. there are some pretty good shows on espn during the day. i like PTI as always, and jim rome is burning is a pretty good show too. too bad i have to work during the day, or else i'd be filling my early afternoons with sports talk shows.

i think my company is up to something shady. for whatever reason, they're not having an ESPP period, which would have ended next week. instead, they're just refunding our ESPP withholdings, which means i lose out on a couple thousand dollars in instant profit. hm. we have a company-wide meeting on friday, and i'm sure there will be some pissed off employees asking questions.

one of my coworkers, one of the originals from the old T days, is leaving next week. i'm sad. he's been here for over nine years now, and i like him a lot. sigh. i don't like seeing friends leave.

ok, that's it for today. have a happy rest-of-hump day!
