smoking habit

hey people. i've developed a bad habit. i've found that i can't do any substantial work (either "work work" or stuff like writing in this blog) until i've had a cigarette break. it's weird, i know. it's like smoking resets my brain so that i can start doing something meaningful afterwards. hm.

so i finally got my dump this morning. it was long, thick, and spiralled out of the toilet. but it wasn't very satisfying because it was soft. i like solid, hard dumps.

anyways, today is the beginning of my 4-day 10-year stanford reunion. i'm not going to any of the events, but i'm just a little amazed that i've been out of college for ten years. man, those were fun times.

speaking of college, i got an e-mail from a long lost friend, jenC. she's in minnesota, and apparently they had their first snow of the season. i've been spoiled with california weather, so i can't imagine it being cold so early. anyways, she's mentioning how she might move back to the bay area next year, and i'll be looking forward to that.

also, i hear that my buddies jeremy and kate will move back to the bay area this november. i can't wait! i love both of them, and they were really supportive of me back when i was suicidal. i still remember sitting on a basketball court with jeremy and alan, and breaking the news to them. it broke my heart to see the concern on their faces. i still remember the fact that kate baked me a lemon bundt cake to cheer me up. :)

i took the new coworker girl to lunch today. we went to joy luck place. we were talking on the drive there, and she mentioned how she has only one friend (a college friend) out here. i felt really sad for her. that's the thing with moving to a new place, though; you have to start over and make new friends. it's a tough thing to do, and that's why i would be hesitant to move out of the bay area.

anyways, it's thursday! that means one more day until the weekend. there's a taiko concert in berkeley on saturday, and i'm thinking about going to that. there's also talk of hanging out in the city before the concert. that should be fun; i haven't been to SF since last october when jessica visited.
