drinking buddy

oh, i forgot to mention that during dinner friday night, i had four drinks. while waiting for people, i got a double johnnie walker black on the rocks ($15), and near the end of the meal, diana and i shared two shots of tequila each. i was feeling slightly buzzed, but i was able to make it home without getting stopped by the police. *knocks on wood* i don't like driving after i've had more than two drinks; even though i can do it, i'd just rather not get caught, you know?

today's the last day of work for my project lead. *sniff* she's a really talented engineer, but in the end, i think she just couldn't deal with the management. sigh. i will miss her tremendously.

for lunch, we took her out to aroy-dee for a thai buffet. i definitely ate too much, but i just loved their thai desserts (fried banana and this coconut and banana concoction). i had terrible food coma afterwards.

you know that i've clogged up the toilet at home; it has a weak flush. but, this morning, i managed to clog up the toilet at work, which takes quite a feat. basically, my dump was superthick (it even drew some blood from my sphincter), and there were two chunks that were trying to squeeze into the toilet's drain. after three flushes, at first i decided to just leave it as is, but then i felt guilty, so i went back into the bathroom for some more flushes. eventually, it got unclogged, and i felt a *phew* feeling run through me.

sigh. i hate mondays.

i can feel myself getting fat again. i'm a little over 170 now, and my belly is getting bigger and bigger. a couple more pounds, and i won't be able to see my schlong if i look down. ick. i hate being fat.

i think this upcoming weekend will be really bad (socially) for me. alan and ting are gone to a wedding, and some of the bowling gang will be in dallas/fort worth for another wedding. those are my two main sources of being social, and they'll be out of town. *poor me* we'll see what happens.

my work buddy W is most likely going to israel to help out that branch of our company. i was asked to go to israel before, and i declined. it just doesn't sound like a safe place to go, given all the suicide bombers and such. *knocks on wood* i wish him a safe trip and a safe return.

ok, that's all i got today. toodle-ooo!

good, yes, good

i had my busiest social weekend in a long time. it felt good.

friday night, jen organized this brazilian BBQ night at BB in the palo alto crowne plaza hotel. i was disappointed with the food, because instead of having brazilian gauchos serve the meats, they just brought out a large platter with various meats. the food wasn't hot, and it just didn't taste that good. on top of that, we each ended up paying over $35 each for the stuff. man!

saturday morning, i woke up at 11 and had brunch with dj. i picked him up, and he said he had never been to stacks, so i introduced him to the great brunch joint in menlo park. it was great catching up with him, because i haven't seen him in YEARS.

afterwards, i took my standard 2-5pm nap, and then met up with dj, dishi and barden at gombei for dinner. yum, gombei, it was the first time in a long time that i had two very good meals. :)

afterwards, we killed time at the pool hall on shoreline before catching the 10:20 showing of _2046_, wong kar wai's new magnum opus. personally, i thought the movie was a bit odd, and it didn't resonate with me as much as _chungking express_ did. i got home around 1am, and surprisingly, i was able to fall asleep relatively quickly.

sunday, i woke up at 1pm. i went out and bought cereal (special k with red berries and vanilla special k with almonds, it was a 2 for $6 deal). and i putzed around on the cable tv for a bit. it was when i realized i had watched 3 episodes of _the brady bunch_ that i decided i was being pathetic again. so i called up nelson, and we watched _the 40 year old virgin_ at mercado. it was a riot! i don't remember laughing so much; the movie was a lot raunchier then the previews suggest, and i highly recommend this movie.

afterwards, a group of us went to chevy's for dinner. i was very hungry at this point (because the only thing i had to eat until then was an apple fritter and a glass of milk), so i got the steak fajitas. *yum* i LOVE chevy's tortillas.

and that was it. all in all, a good weekend, and i was very pleased.
